Awwww, it's like an episode of Lassie only with Power Rangers!!! Yayyyyy!!! Boooooo!!! Anyway, this episode focuses on a dog named Smokey that becomes the Junior Police Patrol's newest safety rescue animal that Katherine learned to train back in Australia and Bulk and Skull have to take care of. Of course, the idiots don't do a good job of looking after him and the dog immediately gets away. Smokey is apparently a very smart dog as it can detect fires from miles away before anyone like he displays at Ernie's Juice Bar when his pizzas are on fire. Oooooo, impressive. I like dogs and everything but these whole savior dog stories just don't work for me. They come off contrived and overly cheesy. Anyway, Bulk and Skull lose the dog and have to chase after it while Kat overhears he escaped and goes after him as well.

Meanwhile, the Machine Empire comes up with a idea from little Sprocket, again, to drill inside of a cave so that the lava inside can over flow and run into Angel Grove, destroying the entire city. Mondo even creates a monster to lead in the drilling, Digster, with a platoon of Cogs. As Katherine searches for Smokey in the forest, she sees and overhears the Cogs heading to the cave. When she follows them and sees Sprocket, Digster and the Cogs, she contacts the Power Chamber and morphs. Oh this episode introduces the Zeo Jet Cycles, which Kat uses to try to escape the Digster's attacks but he ends up damaging her and cycles as she fails down a hill and demorphs. As Katherine tries to get away with a twisted ankle, the Cogs go after her. When she tries to contact the other rangers or the Power Chamber again, her communicator is too damaged to work as well. Soon the Cogs find her but never fear, Smokey arrives to save her. She gives him her communicator and sends Smokey to the Youth Center to find the other rangers.

At the Youth Center, Smokey finds the others as they wonder where Katherine is since her communicator is with Smokey. Bulk and Skull then retrieve the dog as the others try to figure out how to find her. Billy heads to the Power Chamber while Rocky and Tommy morph and regroup with the other rangers to find her. Billy tells them where she last was as the rangers drive through a quarry on their Zeo Jet Cycles. Katherine runs into Digster and the Cogs again as Smokey retrieves her Zeonizer and runs through a sea of blasts to get to Kat. Katherine is thankful and morphs into Zeo Ranger I Pink to kick some ass again. After defeating the Cogs, Katherine fights Digster; even using some her special moves like Zeo I Pink power cloud and her Zeo I Power Weapon: A shield. But as she begins to lose, the other rangers arrive to help her. Clank and Orbis arrive to make Digster bigger and the rangers destroy him with the Zeo Megazord.

Overall, after a tawdry resolution with Smokey, the episode was the weakest so far. I mean King Mondo's plan wasn't bad at all, I just found the plot with Smokey dull and boring. Ohh well.....
