Yeeeee HAAAHHH!!! Them varmints sure in trouble with this episode ain't they???!! That was my western impression.....:).....anyway, back to my review I guess. "Wild West Rangers, Part 1" begins with Tommy giving Kimberly a gift in the form of a rare cactus for her garden but when Zedd turns it to his latest monster, the rangers investigate by taking a sample of the residue from Lord Zedd's spell (Seriously, Billy just touches the thing without using gloves or a napkin FIRST!!! O_o) As they teleport away, Kimberly gets trapped in a time hole that opens up at the lockers in the Youth Center. When the other rangers arrive at the Command Center, they learn about the time hole from Zordon and how Kimberly is somehow trapped in time as Lord Zedd and Rita plan to destroy Angel Grove in the past where the rangers don't exist. Smart plan for once all things considered.

Back in the past, Kim arrives in 1880 Angel Grove were she immediately runs into Bulk and Skull's ancestors.... of course -_-........who turn out to be a couple of criminals/robbers. They try to steal a wagon from Rocky and Adam's ancestors when out of no where, Tommy's ancestor appears, apparently called the White Stranger, since we're in the wild west and all. The White Stranger scares off Bulk and Skull's idiot ancestors as they mistaken brought the wrong guns. The White Stranger then approaches Kimberly on his horse and she just.....faints....jesus Kim, why does Tommy always make you fa.....ohhh I get it!!! Those damn teenage hormones!!! ;) Kimberly then awakes in Ernie's ancestor's bar aka Ernie's Juice Saloon......Ummmm, OK?! O_o Where she properly meets the ancestors of her fellow rangers: Abraham, William, Ms. Alicia and...Rocko......yup....Kimberly shocked and stunned runs out of the bar to see that she has once again been transported to the past. Speaking of that, my goodness, there's more time travel in this season than "Time Force". O_o lol

Meanwhile, back in the present aka the 90s, the rangers are trying to figure out Kim's whereabouts in time when Billy pin points her location. But before the rangers can go off in save her, the alarms in the Command Center alert them to Lord Zedd's plan of accessing the time hole so he can destroy Angel Grove in the past to rewrite history so the Power Rangers are never born. Though I wonder, how is it that Adam, Aisha and Rocky's ancestors were in Angel Grove when they are from Stone Canyon??? O_o Anyway, Lord Zedd sends Goldar, a group of Putties and his latest monster, Needle Nose after Kimberly in the past to stop her from meddling in his plans. The rangers morph and battle them before they can get to the time hole but soon they are paralyzed by the monster's poisonous needles. As the Putties, Goldar and Needle Nose get away, the rangers try to follow them but are too late as the time hole closes for good.

Back in the past, Kimberly, after making follows of Bulk and Skull's ancestors who get arrested, she tells Abraham, Rocko and the others how she came to be here and why she needs to find her way back home. When the 4 don't believe her, the town begins to be attacked by Putties and soon Goldar and Needle Nose who declare the town now belongs to Lord Zedd. Meanwhile, back in the present aka the 90s, the rangers feel like they have lost and wonder why time hasn't changed yet do to that. Apparently it's up to Kimberly to save the day in the past but how will she do it??? Well, you'll just have to read Part 2. "Wild West Rangers, Part 1" is another detour in more fun storytelling by the writers at this point of the season. I do like how we aren't getting the typical morality storyline followed by Puttie fight, monster attack, summon zords, etc. It makes for a nice new feel for the show and I like the Wild West production. Even the shots of the Puttie as cowboys was amusing to me. So far, so good! :)
