MMAR Season 3.5, Episode 4: The Alien Trap

Well, at least the villains are trying harder to win and thinking about actually getting rid of the Alien Rangers as they're the only things standing in their way between them and conquering Earth. So Billy has come up with a new device called....bare with me...a molecular hydro-atmospheric generator that will purify the waters of Earth to the standards of Aquitar so the Alien Rangers can stay longer on their mission to save Earth from Lord Zedd and Rita. Seems simple enough right? But the Aquitains are quickly becoming dehydrated on Earth the longer they stay there so Billy and the little rangers need to hurry up in using it.

Meanwhile, Zedd and Rita come up with a plan to sabotage the device having Rito and Goldar attack them before they reach the North side of Angel Grove lake. After the Alien Rangers eat tons of ice cream and humiliating Bulk and Skull for fishing, don't ask, they make their way to that side of lake, Rito and Goldar appear....but the Alien Rangers have enough strength to use their natural Aquaitian powers to push Goldar and Rito away. But Billy and the others must hurry and set the device if the Alien Rangers are to regain their strength. Meanwhile, Zedd and Rita get the idea to poison the water of the lake by sending the Barbaric Brothers. As the device is set by Billy and it works, the Alien Rangers begin to hydrate. But when the water is poisoned and the Alien Rangers are trapped in a force field by Rito and Goldar, it's up to Billy and the others to save them. They come up with a stupid plan to play a game of tag to trick Rito into losing the force field device as he kicks it out of his hand and Billy catches it to free the Alien Rangers.

With the Alien Rangers free, they are contacted by Zordon to fight the Barbaric Brothers, who by the way sound like stereotypical surfer dudes for....reasons!!! O_o They morph and prepare to fight them as Rita and Zedd make them grow.  The Alien Rangers call on their Battle Borgs and have a pretty brutal fight with the two monsters. They finally get the upper hand and call on the Shogun Zords to form the Shogun Megazord to finish them both off. With another loss for the villains but a loss for the heroes as well, with their molecular device destroyed, the Aquitains are told to go back home by Zordon and Billy for their own safety. While the Alien Rangers kindly accept, they tell their new friends that they will return....but what will happen until then??? We'll see in the next few episodes. This episode was by far the best of the mini-series so far. Not great by any means, but good enough where the villains are actually looking more competent, except Rito of course, lol.
