Season 3, Episode 28: A Chimp In Charge

Well, I guess this episode was a bit better....only because Kelly is sooooo cute!!! I love when they have animals on this show as they are sooo adorable. At this point you can almost guess the plot, when Aisha and Katherine use Katherine's aunt's chimp for a class assignment, Lord Zedd gets the idea to turn her into a full grown monster as usual. There's a ninja fight with some Tengas in the park where Finster is sent to use a device to turn Kelly into a monster. Of course, Bulk and Skull are shoved into the plot when there is a banana bandit in Angel Grove apparently and they decide to STEAL Kelly from Katherine and Aisha.

Seriously, what have these character done besides make themselves look like more idiots that ever as police officers. I honestly don't get how they keep their badgers or how Lt. Stone keeps them around instead of firing them but we need are contrived and gratuitously idiotic comic relief right??? Anyway, when the chimp makes her way to a Jamaican fruit seller, Lord Zedd turns the thing into Sinister Simian, the rangers' latest monster to face. But when all the rangers get word of the monster and how Kelly has become it, it's up to Billy to find a way to transform her back by getting a sample of her fur. But it isn't an easy task as when the rangers morph and face her, she eventually attacks; leaving Billy and the others to force her into getting a sample of her fur. When Billy finally does so, he heads back to his garage, of course, to make the antidote.

Soon during the fight, Lord Zedd and Rita make the monster grow just as Billy finally arrives with the antidote. The rangers summon their Shogunzords and form a plan to distract Kelly while Billy uses his Blue Shogun Zord to send the antidote projectile at Kelly. I have to say for a completely American made Zord battle that it wasn't bad at all. The episode ends with Bulk and Skull being all dumb by taking the Jamaican fruit seller to Ernie but they of course made a mistake because Ernie found the bananas. Overall, the episode was okay. Nothing special. I enjoyed Kelly the chimp being all cute and the zord battle was cool being all in American footage but that's about it.
