MMAR Season 3.5, Episode 10: Hogday Afternoon, Part 2

That's one hell of a way to close out 3 seasons and over 100 episodes worth of Mighty Morphin' Era. It's always sad to see this era of this show end but then again, this very climatic end signals a new beginning for the franchise, a Zeo Beginning you might say! ;) So with the Alien Rangers out of commission, the little rangers get some gallons of water to help hydrate them. Meanwhile, Alpha and Billy work on a device that will restore some of the water on Earth while the Hyrdo Hog is still running a muck around with world stealing it's water supply. Luckily, Billy gets the device to work in time and uses it to reverse the effects of the storm to make it rain. As it rains, the Alien Rangers regain enough energy to continue their fight with Hydro Hog. They morph into action and fight him but it's a tough battle....only made tougher when Zedd and Rita make him grow. The rangers summon the Shogun Zords and immediately form the Shogun Megazord. As Hydro Hog beats the crap out of the Megazord, the Shogun Megazord goes for the finishing move but Hydro Hog just catches the sword like it's nothing and continues to wreck the Megazord.

With the Shogun Megazord down, the little rangers want to help but can't...until Billy gets the idea to remote control the Falconzord (So where have the Ninja Zords been this whole time???!! O_o)  Anyway, the Falconzord attacks Hydro Hog and he attacks it back. The Falconzord combines with the Shogun Megazord to form the Shogun Mega Falconzord to finally defeat Hydro Hog. Meanwhile, Aisha and Tanya arrive to the village at night as Aisha realizes that Ashalla is her great aunt. Ashalla tells Aish pretty much that her journey is here but Aisha was sent to find the crystal. Ashalla believes when Aisha is given a totem that she carries that she will make the right choice. It turns out to be the Sub Crystal as Aisha begins to think of what her decision will be. At sun up, Aisha and Tanya make their way back to where Aisha was found just as Zordon and Alpha track down where in time Aisha. Turns out, Aisha will stay in the past to help save the sick animals hoping that her experience as a Power Ranger and working at an animal shelter will some how save the village. Of course, Zordon is sad to see her go but she will be sending Tanya back in her place with her piece of the Zeo Crystal.

I'll give my thoughts about Aisha's departure in my overview but I think it's safe to say now, WTF!? o_O Anyway, as Tanya arrives in the Command Center with the Sub Crystal, a nervous Tanya gives him the last piece of the Zeo Crystal which he then puts into the transformer with the other pieces. It begins to activate as time begins to move forward and the Earth shakes. We even see the shapes of the sub crystal moving around the world to fix it. Bulk and Skull are restored to their proper ages as well as the rangers....and Tanya, whose now a teenager. So how does that work again??? Was everyone on Earth effected by the time reversal??? o_o I'm assuming yes and Tanya as already been a teenager cause that would be weird af! Anyway, Lord Zedd and Rita are happy that the Zeo Crystal is finally put back together so they can order Rito and Goldar who are still underneath the Command Center to steal it. As the rangers see Aisha is alright in the present, the MMPR rangers teleport to the lake to say goodbye to the Alien Rangers....so they weren't effected by the time reversal cause their not from the planet??? I'm so confused. Anyway, both teams say their thanks and goodbyes as Goldar and Rito are fooling around with the bomb. They finally leave it to steal the Zeo Crystal, to Tanya, Alpha and Zordon's shock. The rangers soon arrive after as the Command Center begins to blow up.

This whole sequence is just freakin' intense, especially when Billy jumps onto an exploding console. A frantic Zordon quickly orders a scared Alpha to teleport the rangers out of the Command Center and he does so. Outside the Command Center, the rangers witness the Command Center destroyed in front of their eyes!! Damn! As they check on Billy, all 6 of them are shocked by the loss of their home base for 3 years. Everyone is uncertain of what to do next as Tommy says this could be the end of the Power Rangers.......Wow, like I said, this marks the end of the Mighty Morphin' Era. It's sad to see it end as always but it always led to much better seasons....well, except for 1 before the Zordon Era wrapped up. Overall, a superb finish to the mini-series, Season 3's story and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers!!! :)
