Season 4, Episode 6: Rangers In the Outfield

YYAAASSSSS Tanya, go off on Shawn!!! How is it that Tanya can come off so confident and self assuring yet Rocky and Adam continue to be dull, dry, etc. I mean, I don't know what Tanya saw in Shawn to begin with but my goodness, after the whole cheating episode, now this. The guy is clearly an insecure little jerk!!! -_- I'm glad we got a bit more development from Tanya, learning she has a natural gift in pitching but it's the moment she finally stand up to Shawn and reads him to filth.....I mean...confidently tells him to back off and they're pretty much done was worth the wait from me. I just absolutely love Tanya and how strong her characterization is.

Anyway, Prince Sprocker comes up with the plan this episode after getting inspired by the rangers playing baseball. He has the Cogs create a pitching machine that will trap the rangers when they hit a pitch that comes at them. After Bulk and Skull humiliate themselves as usual, Rocky and Adam take turns bating when Rocky becomes trapped in the machine after the pitch. The pitching machine then turns into the latest monster of the week, the People Pitcher. As a platoon of Cogs arrive to steal Rocky's Zeonizer (Seriously, why do these people still carry their morphers in their bags??? -_-), Adam actually fights a couple of them unmorphed (the shortest and only real unmorphed fight we'll get all season). But the Cogs make their way off with it as People Pitcher teleports away too. After Adam contacts the Power Chambed, he morphs and meets the others on the other side of the park.

What follows is a ridiculous sequence of the rangers getting and keeping away Rocky's Zeonizer from the Cogs.  It's both cringeworthy and priceless at the same time. How could Ohranger be so silly when apparently it was one of the darkest Sentai series??? Anyway, when Tommy gets captured by the People Pitcher, he arrives inside to give Rocky back his Zeonizer. He morphs and helps Tommy to force them to escape the monster. The rangers fight some Cogs until the take on People Pitcher. Rocky does his Zeo III spin attack as well as the other join together to attack the monster. Clank and Orbis then make the monster grow and the rangers summon their Zeo Zords to form the Zeo Megazord. The use the Zeo III Battle Helmet before going back to Warrior Mode to destroy the monster.

Overall, the episode was decent in showing Shawn in a bad light as usual to make our Tanya look wonderful. The plot was very basic though, nothing special. Oh well...
