Season 2, Episode 26: Zedd Waves

You know.....I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm starting to enjoy the presence of Aisha, Adam and Rocky. They are proving themselves to be we worthy successors of the three rangers that they are about to replace. While it's a shame we never get to see Jason, Zack and Trini interact with Rocky, Adam and Aisha; it's good to know that their powers will be in good hands in these new characters as they continue to show that they are heroes in their own right. I liked seeing them able to help Kimberly, Billy and Tommy fight off some Putties in another impressive unmorphed fight scene as well as help Zordon and Alpha with Billy's device that was destroyed.

Beamcaster, the monster of the day, was a pretty powerful monster, able to control the minds of Angel Grove at will by just swinging his long rode.....ok, that didn't sound right at all!!! O_O LOL As far as plans go, this is one of Zedd's better plans as he just goes for plan mind control this week. I got to say once Bulk and Skull become put under Beamcaster's spell it's actually pretty funny; especially when Skull starts chanting "Hail Lord Fred!" lol I'm sure that was Jason Narvy's ingenious improvising at the time.

Overall, this was a well done episode in continuing to see these new characters get developed on but it's sad knowing we'll never get to see the original cast together again. Even with Jason returning for Zeo, it just won't be the same as seeing the original 5 together. Shame we never had a moment with them together onscreen one last time before Thuy Trang's death in 2001. But the closer we get to the ultimate cast switch off, I'm noticing I'm not getting as frustrated with the transition like I did the last time watching this season. But then again, the next 2 episodes deal with the cast switch up so we'll see if my feeling change or not.
