Season 2, Episode 22: The Ninja Encounter, Part 1
"The Ninja Encounter, Part 1"
Episode 22
Air Date: November 2nd, 1994
For an episode that introduces three new characters that would go on to replace half of the original team this season, the first part of this 3 part episode really is bad....and I mean REALLY bad!!! O_O Could there be no sequence more wasting time and overly long for no reason that seeing Mr. Anderson and the 6 teens chasing after a baby in a carriage for what seemed like almost 5 minutes. Mind you these episodes are only 20 minutes long and now you're telling me a good chunk of it is centered around one of, if not the most, moronic scene off the show so far. What is with the wacky jumps and unnecessary flips to save the baby??? Why is that Bulk and Skull care more about saving the baby then anyone else at the damn park??? Why the hell isn't anyone trying to stop the carriage when Mr. Anderson is screaming at the top of his lungs for someone to stop the f^&*in' carriage??? Are the people of Angel Grove idiots or something??? -_- How are we suppose to feel bad about these people being put in dire situations on a weekly basis when they don't have the common decency to stop a baby in a baby carriage from rolling down a hill??!! Also, how the hell is these thing keep moving??? How steep is this f%^&in' hill?!? I just.....ehhhhh, this episode sucks...it just sucks, suck, did I mention it sucks!!!
......*breathes deep*.....*breathes out*....*breathes in*.....*breathes out*.......Sooooo, this episode introduces the three new characters: Rocky, Adam and Aisha. Three teens from Stone Canyon, which at this point is the neighboring town of Angel Grove, who were helping to stop the baby carriage with little Jacob in it. Tommy, Kimberly and Billy after helping to rescue the kid along side them and introduce themselves. Turns out, they are the competitors of the infamous and undefeated black ninja team in the Angel Grove Ninja Tournament Finals. The match itself is decent I guess as the white ninja team defy gravity but it's at least showing that the behind the scenes fight coordinators are trying to make the show's out of suit fight scenes more eventful and exciting. Meanwhile, Lord Zed figures he will make the winners of the match into his new evil warriors or what not. But when it turns out that Rocky, Adam and Aisha are the winners, he orders Goldar to capture them anyway to force them to become evil. So while Goldar uses his power to capture the three and their teacher, Mr. Anderson....for some reason....Kimberly, Billy and Tommy fight off the Putties in hopes of saving them in time. But they end up being too late.
Back the Command Center, all of the rangers regroup and Zordon tells them that their new friends have been kidnapped by Lord Zedd to become his dark warriors while Goldar traps them in Zedd's cave to prepare them for the transformation. Of course, they are confused and don't want anything to do with it but unfortunately they are chained up. Meanwhile, Bulk and Skull, idiotically, take care of little Jacob when his father goes disappearing. Back at the cave, Rocky tells Aisha to try to pick the lock and.....that's where the episode leaves off. I mean nothing really happens in this episode and this might be the first and one of the few episodes not to feature the Power Rangers morphed at all. It's kind of waste....no....it is a waste!! This was a poor start to these 3 episodes as the introduction of Rocky, Adam and Aisha is laughable and nothing really of importance happens in the episode...BAH!!! O_O
Final Morph: D-
