Well, this was a cute little episode if I do say so myself. It's interesting when we get to met beings from otherworlds besides Earth and I believe this is one of the first in Power Rangers to feature an alien from another planet crash landing in Angel Grove in a spaceship. When Billy, Aisha and Adam come upon it and teleport with it back to the Command Center, it turns out that it's there's an alien inside of it called "Bookala", an apparent advanced and smart race of beings that can learn fast as Bookala learns how to speak English very fast as well as understanding it. It's cool seeing other beings from different planet as it is a precursor to other aliens we'll see from other planet during future seasons of the franchise. I also like how this episode show how competent the rangers can be by making fake spaceship and Bookala to trick Lord Zedd.

Speaking of Lord Zedd, I like how we had a much more start forward plan from him than a minor inconveniencing the rangers. Well, it wasn't really a plan as it was him after the Lightning diamond to power up Serpentra indefinitely. Which wasn't a bad thing since it's nice seeing Zedd after something more than just making the rangers have a bad day. Like I said, since his victory over the rangers by destroying the Green Ranger powers, he really hasn't done much. So now we have him after something other than the rangers' destruction directly by finding a Power Source for a weapon that could destroy Angel Grove as well as the rest of the world permanently. Anyway, we get two monsters of the day this episode with first Weldo, who is sent by Lord Zedd to get the Lightning Diamond from the rangers. After he's destroyed by Billy...pretty easily I might add....Goldar comes with a squad of Putties to face off against the ranger to defeat the rangers and steal the Lightning Diamond.

After Goldar steals the diamond and realizes the diamond was a fake as Bookala escapes, cause that's the name of the episode, get it??? Hahaha...hmmm....Lord Zedd is pissed he was tricked by the rangers and that Bookala got away with diamond; leading him to make a second monster in Bad Bookala. It leads to a quick zord fight and rather standard resolution. I mean I would talk more about Bulk and Skull and their usual dumb shenanigans to find out who the Power Rangers are but MEH!!! Anyway, "The Great Bookala Escape" was a pretty decent episode with a plot that wasn't worthless, the rangers using their heads and not just their powers to save the day. I like Billy's short but sweet relationship with the Bookala, the new team using the Power Blaster for the first time and hearing from Jason, Zack and Trini again at the Peace Conference. I remember not liking this episode originally when I watched it but it's not half bad.
