Season 2, Episode 11: The Song of Guitardo

Well, we're getting very close to the final moments of our Green Ranger but before that we get yet another filler before that can happen so I'm just going to dive into it. The episode opens up with Kimberly is at the Youth Center, playing her guitar, trying to come up with a song. She asks Zack for some help since he is so great with music as Lord Zedd watches them. He plans to use her guitar to summon his latest monster, Guitardo, who will use his hypnotizing music to put all the rangers under his control. The teens are at the park playing football and getting ready for a picnic when they over hear Bulk and Skull in the distance acting like the morons they are. Ehhhh, I'm just going to get right to the point of the story!!! God!!! Zordon senses a disturbance in the morphin' grid which leads him to tell Alpha to alert the other rangers. I love how Zack says they are at the park and should check it out but Zordon wants them to come back to Command Center so he can exposition away!! -_- Great!!!

At the Command Center before telling the rangers what's up, Alpha checks on Tommy to see how his power levels are doing while Zordon debriefs the rangers on Zedd's latest monster.  Turns out he can uses Kimberly's guitar as a way to hypnotize the rangers and put him under his control. Billy concludes the only way to avoid that from happening is if the rangers concentrate and try not to focus on the music. With Tommy too weak to join them, the original 5 morph and face Gutiardo who immediately starts playing his music. At first it doesn't work but then finally gets Zack, then 3 more, leaving only Kimberly to face him by herself. When Alpha, Zordon and Tommy sees this, Tommy gets another fine moment of characterization by saying he has to go in help Kimberly even if it's too dangerous for him and that his friends need him. Tommy morphs and helps Kimberly. Tommy then fights Guitardo one and one as Kimberly just....stand there...but eventually comes to help him...by just...standing there again....O_o??? Anyway, Guitardo disappears, but not before telling Tommy to met him at the fair. While Tommy goes off to fight the monster, Kimberly stays with the others, preparing to watch over them but Zordon says the only way to break the spell is by destroying the Guitardo monster. Kimberly tells Alpha to watch over the 4 rangers while she go helps Tommy.

At the fair, Tommy arrives just as Guitardo reveals himself and tries to use his music on Tommy. Eventually it works but Tommy realizes by playing his Dragon Dagger, he can counteract the effects of the spell. He does so and frees himself. But once again, the monster uses his music and makes Tommy begin to "sink into the floor"....what is this Get Out??? :P Kimberly soon arrives and uses her bow to play some music to defeat the monster temporarily so she can help free Tommy. They both fight the monster until they realize Tommy's dagger and Kimberly's bow should be combined to destroy the monster. Tommy gives her his dagger as Kimberly shoots it at Guitardo,; destroying him for good. The others are freed and Kimberly's guitar is returned t normal. Lord Zedd of course is all pissed....well buddy, come up with more competent plans....sheesh!!! O_o Anyway at the Youth Center, the 6 teens are having a picnic when Tommy is feeling like once again, his days as a ranger of numbered until Kimberly and Zack try to cheer him up with the song they came up with. They sing it and Tommy is grateful. Oh yeah, Bulk and Skull come back to annoy before the 6 teens put their hands together. Overall, another filler, I'm just glad the next two episodes finally deal with the long awaited end of the Green Ranger powers, it only took like 70 episodes or so...sheesh!!! O_O
