Season 6, Episode 6: Satellite Search

We get a bit of plot movement with the search for Zordon story arc this season as this episode starts with...ehhh..Elgar in a Velocifighter shoots down a NASADA satellite that falls down to the planet, Kalderon...or is it Calderon??? O_o  When when Elgar isn't sure it was destroyed, Astronema orders him to go down there and find it.  Meanwhile, the Space Rangers get a transmission from the NASADA Commander of Mission Control, who asks the rangers if they can retrieve the discs within the Satellite as they hold over 8 years of science and development on them.  When the rangers wonder what Astronema could want with the NASADA Satellite, Ashley mentions Zordon as the rangers immediately head to Kalderon to find the satellite before Astronema does. When Astronema sees the rangers heading after the satellite, she sends some Velocifighters after them.  We get a cheesy yet cool sequence of the Megaship blasting the 3 Velocifighters in space as the rangers continue to head to Kalderon.

After riding on their Galaxy Gliders to the planet, the rangers, while searching for satellite, they run into Elgar and some Quantrons.  They fight them as Elgar cowardly retreats and runs into Astronema who hilarious yells at him to find the satellite despite the rangers being there.  As the rangers continue to look for the satellite, communication with the Astro Megaship becomes obsolete. Once Ashley finds a piece of the satellite, the rangers realize they are heading in the right direction and follow the trail until they finally reach the satellite.  They acquire the discs in side and soon run into Astronema and her forces.  The rangers morph and fight them; Astronema once again fighting alongside her army against the rangers.  I LOVE how badass of a fighter she is, able to defeat the rangers with her power staff easily....but not before one of them rips off a her stranger necklace that she is VERY attached to!!! Hmmmmm....nice foreshadowing there writers!!! ;)

After the rangers are defeated, Astronema has Elgar chain them up to the ground as a large and monstrous creature has been following them on the planet and Astronema wants to leave them to be lunch for it. Jesus, this woman is savage!!!  I love it!!! :) But before Astronema and her forces leave.  Andros uses his telekinesis to drop the discs out of Elgar's pocket as they teleport away.  With the rangers trapped and the monstrous Clawhammer approaching, Alpha and D.E.C.A. team up to finally track the rangers on the planet and form the Astro Megazord to come safe them.  An awesome battle erupts between the gigantic Clawhammer and the Astro Megazord.  Alpha and D.E.C.A. do their best to fend him off with the megazord but when Clawhammer has the megazord hanging on a cliff above a sea of lava; the rangers must think quick to escape.  Andros once again uses his telekinesis (Man, this power is VERY useful and comes in handy so far, I love it!!) to grab his Astro Blaster to free himself and the others as they head back to the Astro Megazord in time to stop Clawhammer.  They defeat the ginormous creature and literally throw him into the pit of lava; destroying him for good.  As Astronema hilariously punishes Elgar for losing the discs, the rangers contact NASADA as they are grateful they were able to retrieve the discs; except one that was damaged.  While they ponder what could have been on it, the rangers decide to take a vacation on the Simu-deck. Alpha wonders on his own if they were close to finding Zordon as the episode concludes.  So far, I like how the main storylines of the season are being laid out. Nice! :)
