Season 5, Episode 7: Built For Speed

Okay, I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it through this season!!! -_- The utter absurdity of the show is at an all time high, the same plot is literally being rehashed over and over again; making the writing seem SOOOO incompetent and even the action on the show, that's usually so reliable to entertain you, makes no sense.  So we have a bunch of Happy Days rejects in Adam's stunt show wanting to drag race sponsored by Tanya's radio station.  I just LOVE how dumb this plot is.  Instead of a usual fun episode with having fun with 50s tropes, we are apparently stuck in some bizarre universe where these guys take their characters WAAAAAYYYY too seriously. I mean....WHAT!!!?? Did writer Ralph Soll smoke one to many in the writers' room??? This episode is not only weird for that fact, but it's one of the worst so far this season. Then again, coming from a season like Turbo, being one of the worst episode isn't so hard!!! -_-

Anyway, Divatox and her idiot crew once again use a freakin' detonator to try to blow up something!!! -_-  This time having the monster of the week, Demon Racer, plant it in one of the stunt men's car, who thinks he's the freakin' Fonz.  Tommy and Justin alert the other rangers at the Power Chamber while Alpha 6 has the nerve to complain about the alarms being TOOO loud!!! WOW!!!  I.....moving on.....-_-  When the rangers arrive, there's apparently another detonator they need to track down and they each take a Turbo Navigator to split up and try to track it down.  After Demon Racer plants the detonator in the car, Adam notices him leaving, morphs and takes off after him in his Turbo Go Cart, which were introduce last episode but the dumb writers didn't have the nerve to introduce the name of them yet, sigh!!! -_-  Anyway, Adam chases after him, wanting to know where the detonator is and beats him in a race.  After Demon Racer is destroyed in the race, somehow, Porto says there's another one they can send down as Divatox's furiously orders him too.  So now they can just recreate monsters like that??? Is it a twin monster??? O_o

Anyway, the second Demon Racer attacks Angel Grove while the other 4 rangers morph and go after him.  They save some civilians he was attacking but are unable to  defeat him in battle; Divatox firing the torpedoes to make him grow eventually.  As he continues to attack the Turbo Rangers, Alpha calls on Adam to help and he arrives.....to shot some dumb missile at the monster and race away???  I don't just get why the writers don't skip all this non-sense footage from Carranger and just get to the zord fight!!! -_-  There's even original zord footage in the episode but when it comes to the fight, nope!!!  That whole scene with Adam and Demon Racer made no sense on Power Rangers, so why even use that footage.  Skip it and go start to what makes sense, calling the f@#$$in' zords!!!?? -_-  Anyway, they eventually do, thank God, and we get a decent fight between the Turbo Megazord and Demon Racer until Adam is given the honor to finish him off with the Turbo Megazord Spin Out.  Oh the drag racers are saved by the rangers, they make it in time to disarm the detonator, blah, blah, blah.  Insert apology from the two stuntmen and the chimps causing trouble.  God, this was a dumb and beyond silly episode.  Just avoid it, like much of the first half of the season!!! -_-
