Season 4, Episode 47: Rangers of Two Worlds, Part 1
"Rangers of Two Worlds, Part 1"
Episode 47
Air Date: November 20th, 1996
Well, we're at the home stretch guys of the season with only a few episodes left. Starting things off at the tail end of the season is the set up to Billy's abrupt exit from the show as well as the first official ranger team-up of the franchise. So Billy's getting older huh??? Sure....it's not like your production team was very homophobic, Saban, forcing an original and dear cast member to walk off set!!! -_- Well, to be honest, the reason for Billy's sudden aging has to do with the Alien Ranger saga where he used that device and power coins to make him grow back to normal. Apparently, it had a slow but serious side effect and now Billy is continually aging. I mean I don't mind this sudden turn of events given the behind the scenes circumstances but AT LEAST they could have found an older actor that had gotten David Yost's mannerisms as Billy right. The actor chosen is....pretty bad and when he's delivering Billy's signature lines like "Affirmative", it just comes off forced.
Meanwhile, with Mondo back to seize his throne, Gasket and Archerina head back to their own planet....for now. On the moon, Finster gives Rita a new gift in the form of a new staff that she wants to use on Katherine. But when she accidentally misses her and hits Kat's ugly purse she made in art class, the purse into Rita's latest monster, Impursonator.....sigh......But honestly, the monster turns out to be one of, if not Rita's most powerful monster yet as every attack from the Zeo Megazord doesn't work, the Red Battlezord, Zeo Mega Battlezord, Pyramidas, etc. Even the Zeo Ultrazord can't defeat it after introducing it's new Carrier Mode. The rangers are pretty much forced into a retreat. So as silly looking and dumb the monster's name is, it's a very powerful one it seems.
Meanwhile, Mondo is trying to get his own win against the rangers by sending down his own monster, Cog Changer. He is able to send cog pieces onto machines and control them. He manages to control and destroy the rangers' Zeo jet cycles and take control of the Zeo Megazord by sending a cog into it. I think it's really awesome by the way how we have two evil factions working against the rangers. It makes the fight a lot more interesting and exciting. Besides like I said a reviews ago, I missed Rita and Zedd. They just bring so much joy after a season full of villains who have been cool and all but don't have the charm like they do. Overall, this was a great first part to the two parter! :)
Final Morph: B+
