Season 4, Episode 49: Hawaii Zeo
"Hawaii Zeo"
Episode 49
Air Date: November 22nd, 1996
Well, Tommy and Kat finally dating??? Who saw that coming???!! WOW!!! You mean Tommy likes Kat and Katherine feels....feels...the same way....I mean my goodness.....-_- Ok, sarcasm over. If the writers are gonna shove this Kat/Tommy hook up on us doesn't mean I have to like it. I mean suddenly we're back to this storyline that won't amount to anything, especially next season with Turbo. So I don't know why the writers thought we the viewers would ship this relationship when it's not subtle or natural or cute. BAHHH!!! -_-
Anyway, the main focus of the episode is Gasket being tricked by Sprocket to go after the rangers and have both him and Archerina grow so the rangers can be defeated. Meanwhile, Ernie has come back from his trip to Hawaii and decides to have a luau at his Beach Club. But Gasket and Archerina crash the party with some Cogs; leaving the rangers having to clear the area before morphing and fighting them. Soon Klank and Orbus arrive to make the two grow as Jason fights the Cogs (sigh.....) and the rangers call on the Zeo Zords to form the Zeo Megazord. Soon Alpha sends the Super Zeo Megazord Red Battlezord and Warrior Wheel to help in the fight. And I got to say, I wish this fight was longer as it was pretty impressive to see how powerful the two were together. I'm really gonna miss Prince Gasket and Archerina. They were the highlights of this last quarter of the season. So when Jason defeats the Cogs, he calls on Pyramidas to form the Zeo Ultrazord to defeat Gasket and Archerina.
Meanwhile, as Prince Sprocket celebrates his brother's destruction, soon Gasket and Archerina arrive to spoil his fun. But before Gasket can return the favor, King Mondo and Queen Machina arrive as well to scare him and Archerina off. Once again, said to see these two go, they were probably my favorite villains all season. Awwwww, ohhhh and it appears Jason may not be able to sustain the Gold Ranger powers for much longer. Zordon has Alpha send transmission to Trey on Triforia for word on what might be the cause of this since Zordon believes it's because of Jason's human physiology not being able to handle the powers much longer. A nice segway to the season finale! Overall, "Hawaii Zeo" is a fine farewell to Gasket and Archerina, a poor attempt at romance for Kat and Tommy and a good indication of what's to come in the finale.
Final Morph: B-
