Season 5, Episode 28: The Fall of the Phantom

This episode was AWESOME!!! :) From start to finish, we get possibly the strongest outing of this mini-arc with General Havoc as he has his Chromite soldiers continue to use technology from the Turbo Megazord to now build a new Metallosaurus aka Metallosaurus II. Meanwhile, Divatox is whining and wondering how to get rid of the Phantom Ranger when Havoc tells her its his Power Ruby they need but it will be impossible for them to get.  Meanwhile, Cassie is daydreaming about the Phantom Ranger when she gets interrupted by Principle Caplan.  The teens are getting ready for some upcoming test when Cassie gets a mysterious letter in her locker.  She assumes it's from the Phantom Ranger and heads to Angel Grove Park. But it turns out to be a trap as Havoc and the rest of Divatox's forces capture her then teleport away.

As the other rangers worry about her and try to find her whereabouts with Alpha 6 at the Power Chamber, they receive a transmission from General Havoc.  He has captured Cassie and plans to turn her into stone unless they give him the Phantom Ranger.  While the rangers watch,  Justin sneaks off with Alpha to track down where the transmission is coming from as it ends.  Luckily, Justin and Alpha manage to find her but Dimitria warns the rangers as it was too easy to find her and that it could very be a trap.  As the rangers morph, Alpha tries to stop them but they soon head over to where Cassie is being held.  They fight hard to free Cassie but Rygog manages to use the dust and turn Cassie to stone to the rangers' horror.  DAMMMMNNN!!!  Soon the Phantom Ranger arrives as the rangers tells him he's too late.  But the Phantom says he can change her back using his Power Ruby.  He does so and it works; but turns out to be yet another trap set by Havoc as Cassie transforms into him and he teleports off with the Phantom AND the Power Ruby!! Holy CRAP!!! o_O

So now with Cassie, the Phantom Ranger and the power ruby in the villains' hands, Divatox plans to find out who he really is when Cassie escapes; with the help of the Phantom.  She teleports away, telling him she will come back for him.  When she arrives at the park, the rangers find out where she is and teleport there to regroup.  As pissed off Divatox orders Havoc to finish off the rangers just as he unleashes Metallosaurus II onto the city.  When Havoc confronts the rangers, they morph as he summons Metallasaurus II to attack them.  The rangers quickly summon their new Rescue Zords begin an awesome fight with Havoc that reveals each zords' High Stance Mode aka their humanoid robot forms.  As the rangers prepare to fight Havoc, he reveals he has the Phantom Ranger in Metallosaurus' hand and plans to destroy him.  Luckily, T.J. saves him with Lightning Fire Tamer as Cassie comes down to free him from his cage.  He tells them to form the Rescue Megazord as it will be the only way to defeat Havoc as Cassie heads back to her zord.

The High Stance Rescue Zords each pose before fighting Havoc and its a great fight with Metallosaurus II putting a good fight despite being so outnumbered.  As the fight draws to a close, the rangers finally form the Rescue Megazord and it's f%^&in' SICCCKKK!!!  The rangers immediately summon the megazord's artillery power and fire all weapons at Metallosaurus II as Havoc is frustratingly defeated once again.  Back at the Space Base, Havoc says he will return with an even stronger Metallosaurus as Divatox plans to use the Power Ruby against the rangers.  Meanwhile, the Phantom Ranger is slowly dying without his ruby and says he will be gone forever if he doesn't get it back.  WOW!!! Overall, "The Fall of the Phantom" is not only the best episode this season but one of the finest episodes of the franchise.  I am seriously going to miss General Havoc as his plans and strategy against the rangers were so well done and planned out splendidly!!! :)
