Season 6, Episode 11: The Delta Discovery

Well, the main plot of the season with the search for Zordon comes back to the forefront in possibly the heaviest arc episode of the season.  On the planet, Hercuron, it's revealed Divatox is the one in charge of holding Zordon as she orders her Piranathron to take him away.  But someone in the shadows is watching them as one of the Piranathron alert her to the intruder.  It turns out it's the Phantom Ranger, who has also been tracking Zordon as well.  He begins recording an urgent message to the Space Rangers about Zordon being on Hercuron but is soon discovered by Divatox.  She orders the Piranathron to stop him and he fights them off as the rangers receive the message from the Astro Megaship.  They immediately head to the planet as the Phantom Ranger sees the Piranathron heading off with Zordon.  He goes invisible and runs after them but is intercepted by Astronema and the Quantrons.  Man, that entrance was SICK!!! :)  Astronema orders her Quantron to help take Zordon away as both her forces and Divatox's come together to stop the Phantom.

As the rangers head closer to Earth, Elgar alerts her to their arrival as we get a hilarious scene between him and Divatox.  Maligore...I mean, Dark Specter soon arrives to tell Astronema to attack the Earth to distract them from going after Zordon while Divatox is ordered to take Zordon away.  As the Piranathron and Quantrons continue to fight the Phantom Ranger, soon Ecliptor arrives to fight him as the ship carrying Zordon takes off.  As Ecliptor owns the Phantom Ranger, the rangers finally arrive on the planet to help him.  Ecliptor is ordered by Astronema to fall back and the Phantom tells the rangers that Zordon was on the planet but has been taken away already.  He gives Andros a new weapon in the "Delta Megaship" that he says the rangers will need just as Alpha has lost the whereabouts of Dark Spector's ship.  This is all REALLY AWESOME by the way!!! :)

Soon Alpha detects a monster attacking Angel Grove and the rangers must head back to Earth to defend it from Astronema while Andros goes after the Delta Megaship.  As the rangers arrive on Earth and battle Crocoville, the Phantom Ranger guides Andros through space to find the Delta Megaship.  When Astronema makes Crocoville grow, the rangers call on the Astro Megazord and they fight each other until it looks like the rangers destroyed him.  Only it makes things worse as Crocoville splits into TWO monsters now as the Astro Megazord gets brutally beaten.  When Andros arrives at the Detla Megaship, he is guided by the Phantom Ranger until he reaches the control room. But when the Phantom Ranger succumbs to his injuries, Andros is left to make a choice to see which of the two slots he must put the disc in.  He takes a chance and is right; summoning the Megaship's battlizer and taking control of it.

The Delta Megaship flies down to Earth and immediately transforms into the Delta Megazord!!! Like many things this season, I LOVE the Delta Megazord; especially the Gatling guns it has for hands.  With two megazords now, the rangers use both to destroy both monsters.  After Astronema has an unsettling talk with Dark Specter, she begins putting the next phase of her plan into motion.  The rangers arrive back on Hercuron to find the Phantom Ranger as he leaves a message for both them and Cassie. Awww the writers remembered that little romance that went no where last season!  Overall, "The Delta Discovery" was a phenomenal episode that continues the main arc of the season as well as introducing an awesome in megazord for the rangers' arsenal.  Intense, action packed and great storytelling.  In Space is starting to fire on all cylinders!!! :)
