Episode 6

Well, by Turbo standards, this episode is as usual terrible and one thing I'm noticing there hasn't been that much Sentai footage from Carranger hasn't been used and I think it's because most of the footage from that Sentai parody series just doesn't make sense....at all in American adapted context.  I mean when Porto grows and attack the city; instead of immediately calling for the Turbo Zords or zords in general like the rangers have usually done in the past; they try to take on a fully grown Porto with their weapons??? O_o  I'm sure in the satrirical Carranger it made sense, but on Power Rangers, it just makes the rangers look like idiots!! Especially Tommy jumping onto Porto to repeatedly stab him with his sword and Tanya using her Star Chargers to attack Porto's feet??? O_o  Why not just create American zord footage of the Turbo Megazord battling Porto??? The show's writers and production team have done it before! -_- So why not here!!! The action footage just made no sense and was just so painful watch.  Then Porto is shrunken back to normal sized and summoned back by Divatox....what was the point!!!??? -_-    *Breathes deep*.........*exhales*......*breathes in*.....

Anyway, the main plot of the episode is focused on Justin and him having trouble with some bully named Warren while he gets ready for the Angel Grove Racing Derdy.  Warren keeps picking on Justin; calling him lame names like "Egg Head, etc.  As usual the child actor is atrocious in his delivery and I just find his "bullying" funny.  I've seen worse bullies during my childhood and Warren would get his ass beat calling someone those names because they are corny as hell.  I mean I liked Justin but calling him an "Egg Head" was laughable.  Anyway, I'd say the only part of the episode that was decent for me was Tommy giving Justin a nice pep talk; encouraging his genius intellect and how special it made him.  It's the most genuine moment between these prepubescent new rangers and the long running ranger.  But I still get a weird feeling when Justin is around the 4 veteran rangers.  You see, this is why the whole child ranger concept doesn't work with the other adult rangers.  Justin just feels out of place with the other 4; feeling like the 4 are babysitting him instead of being an integral part of the team.  Sigh....

The sub-plot of the episode is about Porto also feeling needlessly picked on and unappreciated by Divatox and her crew.  So he decides to go off on his own and attack Angel Grove.  Like I said, the sequence of him doing so and being attack by the rangers is embarrassing and pathetic.  But I did feel bad for Porto as he's clearly the most competent member among Divatox's forces and actually had the balls to face the rangers himself by trying to destroy the city.  That more than what Divatox, Rygog and especially Elgar will EVER do this season!!! -_-  So despite the villains royally sh!tting on him at the end by punishing him, Porto so far is the best villain this season so far and that is so terribly sad! -_-  I mean Elgar couldn't even plant a detonator right and realize how defective it was when he put it on Warren's racer!!! Oh that whole dilemma was also laughable!!! Arrggghhhh!!! Anyway, as you can see, "Rally Ranger" was another misstep in a season FULL of them.  Outside of Justin and Tommy's heartwarming moment, it's another awful entry in a run of some disposable, excruciatingly bad episodes. -_-
