Season 1, Episode 41: Rita's Seed of Evil

 After a plot heavy two part series finale-esqe pair of episodes, we are already back to basics with this throwaway episode. I really didn't like "Rita's Seed of Evil", the plot, even for Power Rangers, feels so generic and weak. The episode starts with the teens working on their plants for a science project when Mr.Caplen tells them how good of a job they did and how they need to move to the next phase by planting their plants in the park. Bulk and Skull are idiots and buy a fake plant....but are you REALLY surprised??? O_o Especially when he gets some paint in the face. Meanwhile, Rita gets her latest idea as Goldar expositions about the Octoplant and how it's vines will grow until it completely covers the Earth and destroys it....excuse me.....LAME!!! Zzzzzzz

Back on Earth, the teens go to Angel Grove Park and begin planting their plants.......anyway, Bulk and Skull pop out when the rangers leave.....ANYWAY, Squatt appears and scares them off, THANK GOD and plants Rita's evil seeds so Octoplant can start growing. But soon he is discovered by the rangers as the Putties appear to stop them. The Puttie fight is alright, I'm still so glad Billy can now handle himself in a fight against and the way each ranger works together with another to defeat them.  Soon they disappear and the teens contact Zordon to let them know what's going on just as the city begins to shake from the monster begin to grow underneath the city. They teleport to the Command Center to get the usual briefing from Zordon about what's going on when Jason decides to go by himself and see if he can find any clues of what Squatt was doing at the park. He teleports there and notices energy coming out of the ground but can't touch it. As he informs Zordon about this, the tentacles from Octoplant come out of the ground and attack him. Jason, no one to be f#$%ed with, immediately morphs with some vocal urgency and proceeds...to get his ass beat by the vines!! Jesus! O_o

Back at the Command Center, the alarms go off as Zordon tells the rangers how Jason needs help; seeing him tangled up in the viewing globe. The other 4 rangers morph and rescue Jason from the vines. The rangers, seeing that the energy around the seeds is weakening, begin to dig them out when Rita decides to send Scorpina and Goldar to stop them.  They both arrive, with a squad of Putties and we get a pretty awesome fight! When Octoplant finally grows into it's monster form, Rita immediately makes it grow as the rangers react quickly and call their Dino zords.  This zord fight is alright....oh meanwhile, Bulk and Skull have been stuck in a porta potty.... how appropriate!! :)  Back during the zord, Octoplant for some reason, stops to look at herself, really??? -_- And the rangers summon the power sword to finish it off.

The next day, Mr. Caplen congratulates them for a job well done as Bulk and Skull return, smelling like sh!t. Anyway, the episode ends with Caplen fainting from the smell of them up close! Oh hilarious!! -_- This episode was a dud, just boring in every sense, except for the fight between Scorpina and Goldar against the rangers. Next!
