Season 7, Episode 39: Dream Battle

Yeah, this episode...outside of introducing us to a new villain that won't amount to anything....there isn't any significance to it at all.  Not much of a story either, just fight scene after fight scene and while that's nice, some story or stakes behind it would have been great.  Anyway, Captain Mutiny tells his sorceress, Hexuba, to get rid of the rangers so he can capture more slaves on Terra Venture.  She comes up with a plan to trap the rangers in an endless nightmare......sigh....and targets Damon first as he receives some flowers from a random delivery man.  After he spells them, he falls asleep and dreams of being morphed as the ground rises; falling to his death.  He saves himself by calling on his Jet Jammer but Hexuba uses her magic to knock him out of the sky as he falls to the ground and crashes.  Damon soon wakes up to Leo and Kai being in the room and telling him it was just a dream.  After Damon falls back asleep, Kai smells the flowers and begins to fall asleep.  Leo heads to the Megaship without him since they were suppose to meet up with Alpha.  As Damon and Kai dream, they are attacked by Swabies.  When Leo arrives on the Megaship, Alpha alerts him to Damon's damaged Jet Jammer and Leo quickly realizes his dream was real.  As Leo tries to contact the other guys, their nightmare gets worse as they continue to fight swarms of Swabies.

Soon Maya and Karone get flowers too and I just LOVE how Maya assumes they're for HER!!! -_- Such a b!tch! I'm telling you!!! Anyway, after the girls fall asleep, they arrive in the nightmare to where Kai is getting knocked down.  They continue to fight as they are surrounded by Swabies to Hexuba's glee.  When Leo arrives to try to wake up the guys, Leo smells the flowers and begins to feel drowsy.  He tries to contact the girls but they don't answer.  He tries Mike and finally he answers as he tells him to meet him at the girls' quarters.  As they arrive, they see the girls are fast asleep; experiencing nightmares as well.  They also see the note on the flowers and realize something is up.  Mike smells the flowers too...sigh and the brothers try to fight off the urge to sleep.  Fight, fight, fight....etc.! When Leo and Mike arrive at Mike's headquarters, they run into the delivery man and tell him to throw away the flowers.  They get the address of where they are coming from as Leo falls asleep.  Leo arrives in a snow falling playground and meets the other rangers....more fighting, etc.

Mike makes his way to the address; even getting hit by one of those Terra Venture cars because he's so drowsy.  Hexuba then summons the Nightmare monster to finish them off as the 4 rangers (Damon is strangely absent all of a sudden) fight him.  Mike finally makes his way to the address and is transported to where Hexuba is.  She traps him with some lightning but manages to use a nearby mirror to free him and destroy her crystal ball to free the rangers from the dream spell.  Even after being free from the spell, they are still trapped in the nightmare for some reason....O_o as Damon finally appears to knock the monster back.  The 5 rangers rejoin to summon the Lights of Orion but the power up mode isn't enough to stop him.  Damon manages to destroy him though by forcing his fist into his chest but he suddenly grows.  The rangers summon their zords and form the Galaxy Megazord. As they struggle with the monster, Damon calls for the Stratoforce Megazord....but the Centaurus Megazord comes instead......sigh!!! -_-   They join forces to destroy the monster once and for all.  The episode ends with Hexuba vowing revenge and the rangers finally waking up from their nightmare. All and All, I didn't enjoy this one as the Lost Galaxy arc is wearing itself thin.
