Season 6, Episode 23: A Date With Danger

Awwww, this was always an adorable episode as it show more of hints of Astronema's humanity underneath her evil princess exterior.  It's an unlikely match up that we've never seen before, becoming another first for this season.  I mean a Power Ranger and the main villain going on a date??? Ha it's priceless, but that exactly what happens.  After one of Astronema's monster attacks her for blasting him by accident, Zhane comes in to save her.  I love their interaction together the first time around, with Astronema plotting to destroy him but Zhane just being casual about it and just using her staff to hit up a marshmallow.  It's a cute moment between the two that leads them to start pinning for each other.  Of course, the rangers are unaware of what's going on when they decide to go see some movie call "Star Crossed Lovers".....uhhh huh?? -_-  But that doesn't stop Astronema from going after her man when Ecliptor tells her the rangers are going to see a movie.

What I love about that little moment between them, we see the gentle side of Ecliptor as we see his love and concern for Astronema for the first time; indicating their father/daughter relationship between them. So sweeeett, I LOVE the villains this season, so deep and motivated by more desires than just plain evil. NICE!!! :) Anyway, as the rangers leave the movie theater, we see Astronema transform herself into a much more human looking woman as she bumps into Zhane.  Melody Perkins is sooo cute without all that Astronema attire, WOW!!! :)  Anyway, she then attacks the rangers and delivers Zhane a note about meeting near the lake at 5pm.  Awwww!!! :)  Anyway, Ecliptor decides to go on with a plan to have a new Horror Bull go after the rangers with his data crystal that will be impervious to the rangers' weapons.

As Zhane eagerly gets ready for his date and Astronema sets it up, the rangers are called into action by Alpha when the new Horror Bull attacks. Like I said, their weapons are impervious to him because of the crystal between his horns as they attack and he just kicks their ass.  When Alpha sees the rangers are in trouble, Zhane tries to sneak off but Alpha catches him in time and forces him to go save him to Zhane's hilarious reluctance. Gotta feel bad for the guy, you want him and Astronema to be together but his ranger duties do come first.  After finally finding his morpher, he morphs and helps the rangers defeat the Horror Bull but when it grows, he hilariously heads out of there so the rangers can deal with him in their zords while he tries to make it to his date with Astronema.  After the rangers destroy the Horro Bull once and for all with the Astro Megazord, Zhane finally arrives to the lake but Astronema ain't happy and just blasts him.  Jesus!!! Astronema is pissed he's so late and just tells him it's over.  Man, I feel bad for both of them.  I wanted this to happen man! :( Oh well.... All and All, this was another great episode! :) I liked the character bits between Astronema and Zhane as well as Ecliptor showing his softer side by being a father to Astronema for the first time. Nice!
