Season 7, Episode 24: Green Courage

You see, Damon unlike Maya is a character we have some to know.  He's mostly a jerk but definitely has a courageous spirit, hence the title of this episode.  When the Scorpion Stinger is hit by an asteroid field, the ship's engine is severely damaged leading Deviot to form a plan of his own for Trakeena.  It involves capturing one of the High Councilors from Terra Venture and keep them prisoner in exchange for having the colony's best mechanic to fix the Scorpion Stinger's engine.  The Sting Winger as well as Trakeena's latest monster, Cannonbrawl, are sent to capture High Councilor Renier  when Damon spots them attacking her.  He immediately morphs and fights his way to protect her, but when Cannonbrawl gets the best of him, he captures Renier as Damon isn't quick enough to stop his teleporting blast. I like how when Maya tries to get Damon to stop from going after her alone, he says he would do the same thing.  Oh shut up Maya, shouldn't you be sensing something in the air or talking to a puppy stuck in a sewer!? -_-

Anyway, Trakeena sends a transmission to Terra Venture and lets them know her demands or else High Councilor Renier will be harmed.  Damon, of course, feeling guilty and it was all his fault she got captured, he offers to go himself to fix the Scorpion Stinger's engine. I love how in the helliship, Leo sneaks on board to help Damon out and they have a moment where Mike tells him he needs back to which Damon says, "once a stowaway, always a stowaway!" Some nice continuity there! :)  Anyway, once on the Scorpion Stinger, Trakeena, shocked by the presence of the Green Ranger, forces him to work on the engine immediately. Meanwhile, Leo sneaks around the Scorpion Stinger to find and free the High Councilor. But when he gets discovered by some Sting Wingers, he has to fight his way to free her.  After Leo tells Damon to unlock the door to her cell, Leo leads her away to the High Councilor's disapproval. As Damn finishes fixing the engine, he is brought back to the engine room where he prepares to leave but in a predictable and hilarious twist, Trakeena won't let him go cause she's evil! lol As the asteroid field hits the ship, Damon uses it as the moment to make his escape.  As he, Leo and Renier meet up, Trakeena sends Cannonbrawl after them.  As Damon sacrifices himself so they can escape, Leo and Renier head to the helliship but Damon manages to recover quickly to perform some dumb and unbelievable move that I just can't believe he pulled off! I mean really??? -_-  Anyway, they all manage to escape as the asteroid field continues to hit and Trakeena orders the Scorpion Stinger to get out of there.  Furious that her prisoners got away, she sends Cannonbrawl down to Terra Venture to destroy it.

The episode pretty much concludes in typical ranger fashion with the Magna Defender and the rangers defending the colony against him.  The rangers call on the Lights of Orion as Damon uses his portion of the power to destroy Cannonbrawl.  After her grows (because the monster just randomly grow this season!), the rangers call on their Galactabeasts who turn into the Galactazords to become the Galaxy Megazord.  After calling on Stratoforce Megazord for help, they destroy Cannonbrawl for good.  The episode ends with High Councilor Renier giving both Damon and Leo medals for their heroic save as the High Councilor even gives Damon a high five for a job well done. All and All, unlike "Memories of Mirinoi", "Green Courage" shows Damon in a very wonderful light despite his character flaws...as a character centered episode should dammit!!! Suck a big fat blaster Maya! :P
