Season 7, Episode 29: The Chameliac Warrior

What's so wonderful about this episode and such an amazing improvement after the last one's abhorring quality, is that we get a one off monster of the week that proves to be far more memorable than most.  Chameliac is one of those rare villains that could have easily beat the rangers but thanks to some clever plotting and adapting of this particular episode of Gingaman, we get an episode that finally shows how effective the Galaxy Rangers are as a team....thank God!!! When Mike is running in one of the domes, he catches Villamax leading Trakeena's forces through the dome as they haul some very large pieces of equipment.  He notices Keglar drop a small disc and goes after it after they have left.  That when Mike runs into the monster of the week, Chameliac, who immediately demands he gives back to disc.  When Mike refuses, he has the Sting Wingers as Mike morphs into the Magna Defender.  As Mike defeat the Sting Wingers, Chameliac suddenly mimics his moves, even having a blaster like him as he repeatedly shoots at Mike.  He then does the Magna Defender finishing move and clearly heavily damages Mike as the Galaxy Rangers arrive.  Though how the rangers ALWAYS know the monsters' names before they tell them will always be a freakin' mystery!!!

As Mike is brought the the infirmary, Alpha tries to analyze the disc but it was damaged in the battle with Chameliac.  As the rangers try to figure out what Trakeena could be doing in that dome, Mike tries to get out of bed and help the rangers tell him to stay as they will look themselves.  Meanwhile, back at the Scorpion Stinger, Trakeena congratulates Chameliac but now wants to see if he can take on all 5 rangers.  He does so by beginning to analyze each off their fighting moves on 5 different holographic screens.  As the rangers head to the particular dome, Villamax recieves word the rangers are coming from a Sting Winger and sends Chameliac after them.  When the rangers are intercepted by Chameliac, they fight off some Sting Wingers before facing off with Chameliac one by one.  He first mimics Leo's moves by recreating his Quasar Saber and knocking him down with his usual finishing move.  Next is Damon, who Chameliac mimics his moves by recreating a trans blaster and blasting him.  Next is Maya, who he quickly beats with her more animistic moves while he beats Kendrix with her cat like moves.  Lastly, he blasts Kai with a Quasar Launcher.  As the rangers become wise to what he's doing, they quickly summon the Lights of Orion to destroy him once and for all.   But all he does is mimic that as well!!! DAMMMNNN!!! After kicking the rangers out of their power up mode, he does the same thing himself; defeating the rangers effortlessly as they fall down a hill.

As the rangers recover from their horrible defeat, they wonder how they can beat someone so powerful and fights essentially like a computer.  Leo comes up with a idea and slowly leads the rangers away to tell them what's up.  Meanwhile, Mike is trying to analyze the disc against Alpha's wishes while the rangers uncover the large ray gun that Villamax and the Sting Wingers are building.  As Chameliac discovers them, the Sting Wingers attack the rangers.  The 5 soon morph and fight together as a team.  I just want to mention the American fight choreography has been so excellent this season!!!! O_O  Probably one of the best, if not, best season of American fight footage ever!!! Anyway, as Chameliac and Leo face off, Chameliac begins to mimic Leo's moves but Leo decides to not do his usual moves and does Damon's instead. :)  As Chameliac is kicked down, he realizes this.  But soon Maya confronts him with Kai's moves and knocks him down.  Next Damon hilarious mimics Kendrix's moves to which Kai comes out of no where doing Maya's moves.  What's so awesome about this is we see the Galaxy Rangers coming together as a team to outsmart their opponent at his own game and it's so fun to watch.  As Kendrix is the last to defeat Chameliac with Leo's moves, Leo summons the Red Capsular Cycle to defeat Chameliac once and for all.

As Villamax sees this, he orders Chameliac to grow and he does so.  The rangers summon their Galactabeasts just as Mike realizes the ray gun was built to destroy ALL the Galactabeasts.  As Villamax and the Sting Wingers prepare to fire, Mike arrives to stop their plans by destroying the ray gun!!! YAAYYY!!! :) As the rangers form the Galaxy Megazord, Chameliac begins mimicking the megazord's moves as well. Jesus! O_o  Soon the rangers summon the Stratoforce Megazord but when Chameliac tries to mimic it, he takes out the Centaurus Megazord's blaster! HA!!! After blasting Chameliac, the rangers power up the Galaxy Megazord and destroy Chameliac once and for all with the megazord Saber!  The episode ends with the Lion Galactabeast thanking Mike for saving their lives when he and Leo are out for a fun.  Ridiculously entertaining with a fantastic and fun villain, "The Chameliac Warrior" is a superb episode from this season showing the Galaxy Rangers tackling a problem with their wits and not just their weapons at hand.  Still one of my favorites to watch! :)
