Season 6, Episode 24: Zhane's Destiny

"Zhane's Destiny"
Episode 24
Air Date: October 16th, 1998

After a run of Silver Ranger centered episodes, the writers take us on another amazing space adventure with this episode as the rangers continue their search for Zordon on a dangerous planet that's constantly under a sandstorm.  As Andros and Zhane search for the energy reading that might lead them to Zordon, the other 4 Space Rangers wonder why Dark Specter would keep him captured on such a planet but when there's a second energy reading, the other rangers go down to check it out in hopes they find Zordon anyway.  As the four search the planet, they are being followed.  T.J. and Cassie notice coral on some rocks and wonder how a planet without oceans could produce that when they are captured by a group of rebels.  Ashley and Carlos have also been captured as their leader orders them to take them away.  As the rangers are held captive in an underground base, they begin to question their captivity but T.J. notices no Astronema, Ecliptor and Quantrons, so it must not be them.  Cassie also notices that the base is also an infirmary where people are being tried for being turned into coral.  Meanwhile, the man who captured the rangers, Yatru, is clearly a traitor as he talks to Dark Specter about capturing the rangers as he orders him to destroy them.

As Yatru leads the captured rangers to his true leader, Commander Kinwon and fellow rebel Tykwa.  As Yatru tries to have the rangers persecuted and destroyed by incriminating them for turning their people in coral, the Commander rather have the rangers speak for themselves.  As they tell them they are innocent and are on a mission as Power Rangers, Yatru plants a weapon on Ashley that turns out to be turning people in coral.  While the others try to have them destroyed in agreement with Yatru, the Commander rather have the rangers kept captive until he get all the facts.  Meanwhile, Dark Specter informs Astronema about the rangers' location and wants her to have them destroyed before they get closer to Zordon.  Astronema, still pinning for Zhane, reluctantly orders Ecliptor and her forces to destroy Andros and Zhane on the planet.  As Zhane and Andros discover it was a false energy reading, Ecliptor and some Quantrons attack them.  They fight and eventually escape as Eclitpor orders the Quantron to follow them.  Meanwhile, as Yatru finishes speaking to Dark Specter Commander Kinwon discovers he is the spy and the rangers are in fact innocent as he orders his monster, Coralizer to capture him. Jesus, this episode is so intense and AWESOME!!! :)

Anyway, as the 4 Space Rangers escape their prison, they discover Commander Knwon who has been partially turned to coral when the other rebels discover them too.  The rebels want the rangers destroyed but when Zhane and Andros arrive, they realize they are KO-35 rebels as Tykwa knows the two.  As Yatru grows more frustrated that his plan is ruined, he orders his monster to attack as the other rangers are freed by the rebels and help Andros fight him off.  Meanwhile, Zhane goes after Yatru...who turns out to be Darkonda in disguise....HOLY SH!T!!! O_O But before that, Zhane morphs and we get an awesome fight between him and Yatru.  As the monster gets away, Tykwa gives the rangers back their morphers as they morph and fight Coralizer outside. After he is made to grow by the Satell Lasers, the ranger call on the Astro Megazord to defeat him but need to Astro Delta Megazord to finish the job.  Meanwhile, Darkonda is about to finish off Zhane when a cured Commander throws his weapon at him and saves him.  As Zhane finishes off Darkonda, he promises to return!! God, I LLOOOVVEE Darkonda!!! :)

As the rangers and the rebels get reacquainted, the rebels plan to evacuate the planet due to Dark Specter knowing where they are.  As the rangers help them pack, we finally get the weird title for this episode as Zhane decides to stay and help the rebels.  Awwww, I love this goodbye, especially Andros and Zhane's little bromance goodbye.  As the rangers leave the planet, Andros gives the finally order to leave its orbit as Astronema plans to head to Earth for her next plan against the rangers.  What a very excellent space opera episode that focused heavily on the main plot of searching for Zordon while delivering some pulse pounding action and sinister plot twists.  God I love this season!!! <3<3<3<3 :) :) :)

Final Morph: A+
