Season 6, Episode 21: Red With Envy

I REALLY liked this episode.....but...you know what I didn't like??? Andros, for once and the only time this season, I couldn't stand him! His sudden jealousy over Zhane hanging out with Ashley was soooo uncalled for!! So you're just going to assume you're best friend who came out of a coma after 2 years would just steal your girl??? Grow up!!! -_-  I mean it would make sense if the writers established some history of Zhane doing that.  Just come in and stealing something from Andros, but besides Zhane coming off arrogant and cocky, there's nothing about him that would imply that he would do that to Andros.  This was a pretty shoddy way of keeping Zhane away just so he could just come and save the others but whatever.  I'll forgive it only because the rest of the episode is pretty great.  Darkonda returns, to Ecliptor's irritation and plans on ruling the universe with his new plan.

Darkonda has been working in a secret lab where he planning to unleash an army of Crocotoxes on the Earth but has one of his two Crocotox poison the seas of the Earth.  As the Crocotox attacks the beach, the 6 Space morph into action and when Zhane's showing off catches the eye of Ashley once again, it makes Andros' envy grow exponentially. Meanwhile, during the battle, Zhane suddenly demorphs for some reason.  Then the remaining rangers blast the Crocotox into oblivion. But even after when he tries to ask Ashley out again on the Megaship, Andros chickens out when Zhane is being a jerk and listening in.  I mean give the guy a break Andros, he just spent the last 2 years in a coma and gave up his life to save yours and THIS is how you repay him??? Man, I hated Andros in this episode, such bad characterization of such a superb Red Ranger so far this season! :( I mean if that argument between them wasn't dumb enough, when the other rangers find Darkonda's lair, he has the nerve to tell Zhane to stay behind!!! WHAT THE F$%^!?? -_-

Anyway, long story short, the rangers get caught in a trap trying to find Darkonda's lab!!! Nice going, And-ASS!!! -_-  Anyway, as Zhane stays behind on the Megaship, it's HIM that realize how much an asshole Andros is being and goes after the rest of the team.  NOW, Zhane is smart and a great character for this; knowing when his best friend is being out of line and when he is needed!!! As Zhane retracts his steps at the beach to find Darkonda's lab, he runs into Ecliptor as apparently, the Silver Ranger is legendary throughout the universe or something.  WOW!! O_O So during the fight, Zhane tries to conserve his morphing energy while the rangers are being destroyed by Crocotox after Darkonda gloats about finishing them off.  After finally morphing, Zhane defeats Ecliptor in battle and races off on his own Galaxy Gilder that turns into a Silver cycle to Darkonda's lab.  After missing the same trap that the rangers are caught in, he is told by them to stop Darkonda in his lab.  When Zhane reaches his lab, Darkonda is shocked by the presence of the Silver Ranger as he destroys his lab.

A fight leads outside between one of the Crocotox and Zhane as the Andros uses the battlizer to escape the net the rangers are trapped in. As the other Crocotox grows during the destruction of Darkonda's lab, the rangers call on the Astron Megazord and the Delta Megazord to form the Astro Delta Megazord.  I love the Sentai footage shot of the rangers battling the Crocotox in their megazord while Zhane battles the other on the ground.  Just so well done in Japan!!! :)  Anyway, after the rangers destroy their Crocotox, Zhane destroys his but once again, demorphs in the process.  Meanwhile, at the Dark Fortress, Astronema contemplates bringing Darkonda back after the ranger's latest victory.  Back at the Megaship, Andros finally apologizes to Zhane for being such a dickhead and Zhane accepts, even telling him that Ashley asked a lot of questions about him when they were hanging out.  Finally, the two ask each other out as Zhane meets with Alpha about his morphing problem.....lol.  Overall, a really great episode outside of the annoyance of Andros being so mean and jealous out of no where. Ehhhhhhh...NO NEED TO SEE THAT AGAIN!!! -_-
