Season 4, Episode 16: Lucy

"Lucy"
Episode 16
Air Date: March 2nd, 2005

I guess the only thing to really take from this episode is we get more insight on Lois' upbringing in the Lane family household as Lucy Lane, at least this depiction of her is nothing out of the ordinary.  I get the whole awarding star student turned to a life of crime because of daddy's lack of love and affection toward her but it doesn't come off that well here.  Lucy in the end is just a spoiled brat who decided to become a criminal even after Lois found out the truth and literally drives off to never be seen again until the very last season of the show.  You really don't feel sympathetic for Lucy at all, especially when it's revealed she's working with the dangerous loan shark that is apparently after her.  Also, if she was working with this guy and wasn't running away from him, then what was up with the elaborate ski chase at the beginning of the episode that looked Lucy was in jeopardy??!!! See I don't like episodes that present a plot in a way that contradicts itself in a way where only the characters are caught off guard by these turn of events but the audience were being misdirected in a way that makes no sense to the plot! O_O Ewwwwww!!! Frankly the whole story is boring and like I said, Lucy doesn't come off as likable or even interesting with the story they have given her here at all. Seriously, why even bring in this character at this stage in this show when we need more Lois and development with her character that has been severely underused so far! -_-

But like I said, it's nice to see Lucy come in to help flesh out Lois' character at least as she is a character we not only like, but immensely love and as always, her interaction with Clark is priceless, especially the breakfast scene where Lois can't cook for the life of her.  Which feels completely in her character! Not to mention, the serious scenes between them where Clark gets to see a more vulnerable side of Lois is just so well acted and written.  Dammit, can they just write out Lana and keep Lois?!??? :( Not to mention, that final scene where they finally acknowledge each other as friends feels right and more than welcomed to finally see that type of progression in their relationship.  Lex becomes apart of the story as well but is misplaced and feels very shoehorned into it honestly. But I guess it's better than what's continuing to go on between Jason, Lana and those damn stones...right!!?? -_-

I just....I can't with this storyline with these two and these stones anymore!!! I'm waaayyy more fed up than Lana is in this episode! -_- Suddenly Jason is becoming a psycho over them attacking Lionel for the whereabouts of it and Lana apparently made it seem like some looted her apartment so Jason would stop focusing on them so they can get back to their relationship.  Yes, Lana apparently planned some elaborate scheme to manipulated Jason and hide the stone for herself instead of him knowing where it is.  Suddenly, the girl who hates secrets and lies and becoming the ultimate manipulator as well as conniving liar! Maybe all that time with Clark, Adam and now Jason has given her so much trauma that she decided to join the club.  What's even the reason behind this sudden turn in behavior??? O_o I just....I don't get this storyline. AT ALL!!! Not to mention, Lionel makes Lex look like an absolute fool as he can't even see that Jason has been playing him. lol  I guess I can take that as another rare moment of enjoyment from this stupid stone storyline with Isobel and the Teagues.  Lucy is littered with inconsistent story relevance outside of developing Lois, some nice scenes between the two as usual and that awesome super jump sequence Clark flying off the bridge onto the truck Lois and Lucy are on. Besides that, little to enjoy here as usual when having to deal with this witch/stone arc.
