Season 19, Episode 12: Trust Me

You know if there's one thing I HATE...absolutely  HATE is when an episode has a very promising and impressive set up...yet it seems all for nothing in the end.  Serrator was also a very promising new villain this season but rewatching this season, he is being so underutilized and comes off more like your average henchmen than a powerful new main villain.  The episode begins with Serrator on a remote island where he casts a spell that forces everyone on the island to run and hide in fear.  This of course catches the interest of Mentor and the rangers as they head to said island to investigate.  Turns out is a laid out trap for the rangers when the six pair off into teams and are confronted by Serrator, Dayu and Dekker as each of the three confront one of the teams.  So...ummm...yeah....from there the episode kind of falls apart for me, especially when it comes to Serrator's execution of his plan.  So Dayu and Serrator take four rangers out of commission...when in fact it was inconveniencing them in battle instead of really destroying or even trapping them! O_O  Would have made more sense if Idk.....he forced the spell on them too!!! Made the rangers so fearful that they are unable to fight him and his minion but whatever...let's just drag this out and let this become more nonsensical in the long run. -_-

Oh and Dekker antagonizing Jayden throughout this episode makes absolutely no sense! I'm sorry Dekker but for all that talking down to Jayden about his lack of skills since they last fought or losing his Samurai secret....this is the same guy who last season was building up this ultimate deal with Jayden, and when the duel was over, you were embarrassingly beaten by him.  Luckily you're alive because your sword was broken and now you are trying to make him feel like crap because he's losing in battle to you???  And the reason Jayden is only losing because he's buying into this crap as well.  Now Jayden wants to fight him one on one and isn't thinking clearly so he's putting his life on the line....oh for the love of!!! -_-

Anyway, apparently the main part of the trap was setting up the rangers to be destroyed by a large army of Moogers carrying master blasters....oh no!!! Whatever will the rangers do??? O_O  Oh look, Cody returns conveniently with a weapon that will save the rangers and help them to easily defeat their enemies??? WOW!!! What's the deus ex machina called???  Oh and BULL-Zooka??! Nice! -_-......Oh yeah, now Jayden can summon Super Samurai mode AND use this new powerful weapon when Mentor Ji arrives on the island and hands them the new weapon in time.  Oh Mentor Ji can fight huh??!! How we've seen this all but twice for a short period of time and he has yet to mentor the rangers on any type of Samurai practices in 2 seasons!!! I just.  Anyway, Serrator retreats and summons those giant Spitfangs with the Paprox; leading to the rangers to summon their zords.  Jayden, of course, summons the Shogun mode and manages to help the other defeat them, especially with some dumb spear thing that he can make with the BULL-zooka in the megazord! Whatever! Ummmmm...so yeah, all of that happened and I'm just left feeling so...MEH!!!
