Season 19, Episode 1: Super Samurai
"Super Samurai"
Episode 1
Air Date: February 18th, 2012
Well here we are, season 2 and the beginning of the dreaded "SUPER" inserts to the show's title because apparently Nick wouldn't air the show otherwise. I don't get why this was only a burden of the Neo Saban Era as once Hasbro bought the franchise during Beast Morphers, suddenly no more "SUPER" second seasons and just the same title with a second season. I'm thankful that happened and I'm sure Hasbro had a hand in that ending but makes no sense to me the marketing of with the "SUPER" seasons. Did this help with toy sales or something??? Nickelodeon has really demanded some odd inclusions to the franchise since the show began airing in 2011: the "SUPER" titled second season, holiday episodes tacked on and just airing a PR adaption over 2 years with 20 episodes each year instead of the first 17 seasons that ran between 32-50 episodes in one year like the Sentai. It's definitely made the show harder to enjoy because of those reasons, especially making adapting Sentai's much more difficult as the American adaption would fall completely behind in terms of catching up with the Sentai seasons that air before it. But whatever, here we are, Power Rangers Super Samurai where the show is just as stupid and poorly executed as ever. No change but the show's title as this premiere feels like just another episode but since that Black Box is sooooo important, Antonio finally programs it so they can unleash....Super Samurai mode....Ooooooooo!!! O_O
Sanzu river water is reaching our world in large puddles around the city but one wonders how that's possible since there have been no major Nighlok attacks. Turns out that Nighlok monster at the end of last season that was tortured and mutated which has allowed him to roam the real world while causing enough chaos to make the sanzu river water arrive on Earth so much....aka just go with it! So the rangers basically fight off, then track Arachnitor to an abandoned construction sight o stop him for good. But unfortunately, their ambush is foiled by a trap set by Xandred who sends Octoroo to out powerful symbols in the area that stop the rangers from morphing. But they able to fight on with their spin swords that they can make appear out of no where, cause Samurai symbol magic maybe??? Who knows. The fight scene isn't bad but our heroes still continue to rant on during them which just irritates beyond words. Luckily, Jayden and Kevin are able to destroy the symbols and morph; just as Antonio arrives to give Jayden the black box. Like I said, Jayden can become a Super Samurai now. More powerful than the rangers regular suit with added features that easily help him to defeat Arachnitor.
Soon Arachnitor grows and we get the rangers calling on their zords to form the Samurai Megazord as well as the Claw Zord Battle Mode. Oh and the Super Samurai mode gives Jayden his own new mega mode in the zord whatever. -_- Unfortunately, Arachnitor is joined by those crab head things that are too powerful for the megazords so the rangers decide to form a new formation with the Samurai Megazord and Claw zord aka Claw Armor Megazord but it is still not enough to win the day. Soon the rangers decide to call on their powerful auxiliary zords to form the Battle Cannon that the rangers use for extra power to destroy Arachnitor and the rest of the attacking monsters. Yeah and Bulk and Spike are still.....being them...... More rangers together crap....the end....... Next!
