Season 19, Episode 13: The Master Returns
"The Master Returns"
Episode 13
Air Date: May 12th, 2012
You would think an episode titled "The Master Returns" would be an episode that is FINALLY eventful and worth the wait after some of the worst run episodes yet for a season. But oh boy, Super Samurai is as about as insufferable as you'd expect from this series. I'm sorry, I am soooo tired already of Jayden putting himself down because Dekker says he has lost his edge and isn't a true Samurai anymore. Literally, most of this episode is about Jayden dealing with how potentially weak he might be since he last faced off with Dekker. Mentor Ji even has a talk with Jayden about it and tries to reassure him but he just motes the whole episode about it even when he is proven that he has been a strong leader by embracing his team....not to mention, how much evil they have defeated since they began their journey as Samurai Rangers! -_- Jonathan Tzachor....thank god he didn't stick around to long during the Neo-Saban Era with his writing being as well written as an episode of the Kardashians! How are we suppose to root or care about these characters with such character development like this when we barely see them having any personalities already!!??? -_-
Anyway, the episode is basically about Master Xandred finding out how Serrator has been going behind his back and plans his own machinations to rule the world. I was barely paying attention but Xandred can't stop having his headaches as always as the medicine he is ALWAYS DRINKING isn't strong enough by itself. So he needs to bring Dayu back since her harmonium is what kept soothing his headaches.....then why the hell did you destroy it in the first place if it was so instrumental in helping you feel better??? O_o Now all of sudden you want Octoroo aka Mr. Oooo AH OOooo! which is really getting on my nerves!!! -_- I miss when Octoroo was more clever and snarky with some great lines instead of sounding really irritating with that damn catch phrase. Anyway, Octoroo goes to the real world to track Serrator who of course double crosses him and sends him running back to the Netherworld. Xandred, upset about learning this, decides to risk going to the real world even tho he can dry out to death. So while the rangers are confronting Dayu and Serrator as well as an army of Moogers, Xandred arrives to pretty much make his presence known and kill aka destroy everyone.
Of course, as pathetic as Xandred has been presented for over a season til now, he manages to show just how powerful he is by hitting the rangers, Serrator and Dayu with a powerful multiple blasts that they barely survive. Even Jayden using the combined power of Super Samurai mode and the Bullzooka isn't even enough to hold off Xandred as he is easily defeat and badly hurt as the rangers go help him. Even tho he is drying out quickly, he manages to chase Serrator off and convince Dayu to come back to the Netherworld after fixing her harmonium. While the rangers recover, the episode ends with Xandred having to soak in the Sanzu water for a lengthy period of time and Serrator returning to claim leadership as now he is able to lead the Nighlok in their mission in drowning the human world. Yeah....so that's what happened..... These just happen in this show with little to no meaning and you just become more and more irritated by how irrelevant it all seems. Oh and Jayden's secret just keeps getting brought up but my god, when the truth is revealed! HA!
Final Morph: D
