Season 19, Episode 2: Shell Game

I guess this is one of those episodes where we are suppose to be so engaged of the running gag of Antonio being a no show because he accidentally loses his phone...which ends up in the hands of Bulk and Spike of all people; keeping him from helping the other rangers for an episode. Oh, so the writers didn't think using Antonio being complete oblivious to a massive monster attack for an entire episode and having the comic relief duo having his morpher until they just drop it where they found it kind of negligent and stupid???!! O_O  I mean, I'm not surprised by any means cause this show would make a ranger look completely useless and dumb at the expense of the others just for a damn joke but at least the other rangers are shown as competent enough to not need their 6th ranger to come and save them, especially when dealing with a strong monster as Armadeevil, who has an impenetrable shell that the rangers can't break through. So Kevin suddenly decides that the rangers must attack the monster in sequence of attacks that will make his shell vulnerable enough for them to get through it.

In terms of plans, this is the best plan the rangers have come up with since "There Goes the Brides" cause it actually sees the rangers using their brains again instead of what they usually use for this show to find a way to outfight their enemy.  Sure it's just Sentai footage but it still is a nice plan over all using their various elements against the monster to crack his shell.  Of course, that's not enough and the rangers must use Super Samurai mode to finish the job because that's this season thing to sell toys! O_O  Kevin gets the pleasure of using it while the rangers hold the monster off until he is able to defeat with a Super Samurai slash.  But the fight isn't over yet as the rangers must call on their zords to form the Samurai Megazord as well as alternate formations to get his shell vulnerable again. They finally use the Battle Cannon to destroy him once and for all.

Honestly, we've seen worse episode since Samurai started and this one is harmless compared to A LOT of what came before. Nothing more to say but next episode!
