Season 14, Episode 27: The Snow Prince
"The Snow Prince"
Episode 27
Air Date: September 26th, 2006
Ehhhhhhh!!! As this season whines down, it just makes me want to whine more!!! O_O I guess we finally get a Daggeron centered episode...or at least an episode trying show how GREAT Nick is all of a sudden based on some ancient Mystic mentor who comes out of no where and summons the two. Apparently, Daggeron has much to learn from Nick as the Snow Prince puts Nick in charge of training/teaching him for a day. Ok, I get it, the Snow Prince's lesson is all about Daggeron learning to trust Nick and his instincts despite his very nonchalant attitude toward his training. But COME ON!!! o_o Isn't Nick suppose to be the greatest wizard of all time aka The DAMN Light that he has suddenly been foretold to be???! Shouldn't Nick be taking his training more seriously since he's such a powerful figure and detrimental to the good guys beating the darkness??? But just because Leanbow shared the same characteristics as Nick has now, doesn't mean Daggeron should just listen to Nick and trust him when his methods are clearly rash and unethical because he's just attacking instead of thinking straight in battle. Just look at Megahorn kicking the rangers' collective butts when they were Titans and they got themselves easily defeated instead of planning ahead but just because Nick luckily found weak spot means Daggeron was wrong and the Snow Prince should leave him behind to learn his lesson. Mind you, as badass as Megahor is, even in the snow dimension, Megahorn kicks him and the rest of rangers back into the real world because clearly the 6 of them aren't enough to beat him. No, it takes Daggeron having a random talk with Phineas of course to make him realize what he was doing wrong???
I'm sorry, I just didn't by it and what exactly is Daggeron suppose to learn when Nick tries to teach him how to ride his motorcycle. Once again, it's a lesson lost in translation because Nick and the other rangers STILL have a lot to learn while Daggeron has been at this since medieval times or whatever. Now if the Snow Prince said since Nick is the Light, Daggeron needs to trust him more on the battlefield even tho his methods seem overzealous but that doesn't mean Nick doesn't need to learn more and get on the level of Daggeron as a fighter. I feel like I'm ranting in circles but this is what this season has forced my reviews to become. If the rangers were used more to emphasis the lesson Daggeron had to learn than fine but Nick alone makes no sense without the whole the Light angle. Yes, Leanbow was just as bad as Nick but clearly he eventually learned because his eventual commitment to his training instead of just half a$$ing everything like Nick so far! Ewwww!!! -_- Speaking of Leanbow, I guess I should talk about him getting tricked into coming to nick's rescue because of one of Terrors using his parentage to Nick as a way to protect him??? Meh!! Leanbow/Koragg is suppose to be this morally gray character but it feels jarring, weak and confusing. One minute he's Koragg, one minute he's Leanbow, without any struggle between the two. Feels forced, especially with the whole honor/rules of evil bull that brings the show down in enjoyment...FAST! o_O
The Terrors are....Zzzzzzzzz. I'm sorry, they are just a bunch of generic monster villains against the rangers who aren't doing much of anything besides complaining about the rules of darkness, one of them breaks the rules and Itassis has a fit over it! That's how it's been since the last couple episodes since they've been introduced and it's horribly boring. It like the villains understand how stupid this is but the writers just have them self sabotage their own plans of victory because they are clearly skimming through an arc of episodes that have to be because of the limited number of episodes this season. So why even bother and making them such a major threat when the rangers are killing them off one by one with relative ease. Once again, they're so powerful as a unite but the hindrance of this trite storyline with having to follow these evil rules of fighting is the dumbest thing I've heard from this show and it's freakin' Power Rangers!!! O_O Oh Udonna gets kidnapped by one of the Terros because she CAN'T defend herself....NO!!!? o_O Poor Clare, taking one for the team because her mentor is so dense for going after Leanbow herself. yes, she was right about him being alive but that doesn't excuse her sudden naive incompetence like this. All and All, mediocre at best. I'm really trying to push through this crap but it's getting harder. 5 to go! :(
