Power Rangers Mystic Force - Tribunal of Magic | Episode 19 "Dark ...
"Dark Wish, Part 2"
Episode 19
Air Date: June 10th, 2006

Well, this is a definitely a step in the right direction even if the episode starts off once again with the rangers looking like complete imbeciles who can't figure out that the world has change because of Jenji being captured and the villains wishing them out of existence.  Tho I'm sure it would have been better for Imperious to wish the Mystic Force rangers were never born and stop the new powerless versions of them from returning things back to normal, but this is a MAJOR victory for the villains as the rangers practically handed them Jenji, so who am I to judge??? :)  So Tobey's pretty much a bum roaming the streets since the Rock Porium is no more thanks to the forces of darkness and Nick never came to Briarwood aka took him forever to believe in magic when the most doubtful believer would agree, "This sh!t is real!" O_o  They try to head to Root Core through the tree, but can't.  They head back to the woods where Root Core has been destroyed...where they meet Udonna and Clare who are dirty and batsh!t out of their minds! O_o Yeah, I don't think you should keep asking them questions guys, clearly they don't remember you since reality has been changed and could attack you at any moment.  Meanwhile, the villains are celebrating their victory as now Necroli is sent by Imperious to destroy the powerless rangers....well, at least he knows this and is making sure they don't try to reverse things so kudos on Imperious the mastermind behind this! :)

So as the rangers roam the woods realizing all they have lost, Koragg The Knight Weirdo jumps out of the trees; seemingly trying to fight the rangers but he just wants to talk.  Nick, of course, takes his sword and prepares to fight him as the rangers stop him, but you can't blame the guy, he's your mortal enemy and could very well be another trap.  Luckily, Koragg is on their side and wasn't affected by the wish as he wants to help the rangers put things right....WHAT!?? o_o Yeah, Koragg wants to help the good guys because the way the villains won was dishonorable...WOW!!! Guys, just let Nick kill him, destroy him, whatever because this is the worst kind of villainy I have ever seen.  Even the rangers make fun of Koragg for how stupid and idiotic his whole reason behind helping them is and....still they go along with the Purple Ingrate!!! -_- So Koragg helps the rangers by telling them only the Tribunal of Magic can reverse the wish but since he has no magic to get them there, they'll have to ride Fire Heart to their dimension to get there.  After a hookey CGI sequence of the rangers using Fire Heart to stop Necroli, Fire Heart opens the portal to the dimension and flies through.  As the rangers arrive...Fire Heart just flies away, leaving them there to find their way.

Honestly, once again, it may seem I'm bashing this three parter so far but there is actually a tremendous amount of good here despite my continued annoyance of the uneven af writing.  The fight sequence where the rangers must defeat all the dead warriors who failed to get to the tribunal before is one of the most impressive and intense fight sequences of the show surprisingly enough.  No over the top explosions, no magic, no weapons, just the teens using their fighting skills to out fight overwhelming odds and it's pretty freakin' awesome!!! :)  After the rangers pass, the last dead warrior hands them a key and vanishes as they continue their journey forward until they reach two random doors in the middle of no where.  The first apparently leads them back home where everything is back to normal but Madison stops them as it seems too easy.  A little too on the noise but the rangers soon debate about them usually taking the easy way out and finding another way to reach the tribunal since Koragg only said the tribunal can lift the effects of the wish.  An extremely uncharacteristic moment of intelligence once from them as Chip opens the second door that leads to a very scary looking vortex which they confidently go through...leading to one of the most beautiful sets I've ever seen on this show.  WOW!!! O_O :)

Once again, the New Zealand production has it's merits, especially they go all out for episodes like this.  The Tribunal themselves also look brilliantly otherwordly with those face covering warbrode that the costume department must be commend for. :)  Also, I LOVE how strict and stern the tribunal is, even when the rangers plea with them to reverse things, they make sure to question how this happened in the first place as well as pointing out that it was all their fault to begin with.  Sure, the fact they don't care what kind of magic overtakes the Earth, you can't blame them for being so arrogant over a bunch of former magic wielders who caused their own downfall in saving the world.  After quickly conversing, they magical send the rangers back home as they are shocked and discourage that they are on their own as the world they new is seemingly gone forever....as the Tribunal continues to watch them; even one them hoping they don't give up (Omg! Don't say it! Max and Danny are still out there) ending Part 2. All and All, while Part 2 continues on some glaring, irritating things with the main plot, it's a superior episode in every way thanks to that adventurous and thoroughly entertaining desert fight sequence, the amazing Tribunal visuals in terms of set and costumes, not to mention the fact the rangers are shown to be very determined with their inspiring heroism once the tribunal dimension as they desperately try to turn the world back to normal.  Not much but still pretty darn superb for this season regardless. :)
