Season 14, Episode 20: Dark Wish, Part 3

"Dark Wish, Part 3"
Episode 20
Air Date: July 20th, 2006

I'm glad that these trio of parters ends very strong instead of like Ninja Storm's last parts of multi-parters being completely pointless and separate from the previous 2-3 parts.  "Dark Wish, Part 3" actually really compliments the three part with Part 1 setting the moral dilemma at hand, Part 2 showing the fallout and failure of said dilemma and Part 2 concludes with the rangers resolving the story in no better way than finally showing some responsibility for their mistake as well as showing once again how hopeless the fight is means nothing as they immediately try to save Tobey's life when Necroli orders some Hidiacs to destroy him.  It's a really inspired moment once again showing despite by lack of interest in these overwhelmingly underwhelming set of rangers, at least they can prove themselves to be worthy of their immense calling by protecting the city as well as saving the world. As the Tribunal watches the rangers continue to fight when all hope is lost and with no magic, they decide to finally reverse the wish as the world returns to a colorful glow as well as the rangers' Mystic Morphers.  They immediately morph with excitement as their powers have returned and begin fighting off Necroli and the Hidiacs.  Meanwhile, Udonna and Clare return to normal as well as Root Core when Daggeron exits it and wonders what just happened. Back in the underworld, Imperious realizes the wish has been reversed as Koragg arrives to attack Imperious for the last two Barbarian Beasts injuring him so badly.  Of course, Imperious plays dumb as Koragg plans to get his revenge.  For some reason, the lamp Jenji is in is possibly being Leelee of all people but I doubt it as she casually just opens it and gets Jenji to trick her so he can escape.  WOW!!! -_-

As the rangers continue to fight, Solaris Knight joins them as well as Koragg who goes after the Barbarian Beasts to destroy them for what they did to him.  During the intense fight, as the rangers face defeat, they FINALLY admit how wrong they were for taking the easy way out and how it was their fault; leading the Tribunal to reward them for finally learning their lesson in the form of the Legend Warrior Mode.  And I got to say this team upgrade is beyond awesome!!! The design of the Legend Warrior suits are an incredible alternate look from the rangers' usual suits leaving the capes behind additional aesthetics like gorgeous white boots and shields as their helmets having more animal  features that resemble their specific mystical creature.  I don't get the whole rotary phone staffs but that's just one of those silly props from Sentai that just translates more in silliness more than anything else on this show.  With their tremendous new power tho, the rangers are able to summon even greater power like lightning bolts, tidal waves, rock slides, even a fire storm! Cool!!! :) As one of the Barbarian Beasts runs off like a coward (Ha!),  the last one is left to contend with the rangers but they use their new powers to create a star formation that destroys him....by sending him flying into a large iceberg!?! Oh why do even ask anymore!!! lol After Daggeron and Jenji are shocked by the rangers' impressive new power level, Imperious berates the last Barbarian Beast for leaving his fellow alone to be perished by the rangers.  Imperious soon sends him to the Nether Dimension as he thinks he is being rewarded by Imperious...but instead Imperious is using him to power up his latest creation, Ursus which begins to come alive.

After seeing incredible dark magic rising in that dimension, Daggeron and Jenji head there on the Solaris Streak Megazord and begin to fight the creature; which leads them back to the surface world.  The rangers soon arrive and summon their Legend Warrior Mode again as Udonna tells them that the Xenotome says their new powers give them a new megazord they can summon.  As the dial their staffs (lol), Nick turns into a Fire Bird (But he's already a Phoenix??? O_o) and the rest of the rangers join to form a giant Lion zord.  After some circus theatrics (Oh Sentai! :P), they combine to form the Manticore Megazord and once again, that thing is a freakin' beauty!!  Not to mention, that flaming finisher move with the staff...EPIC!!! :)  As the episode concludes, the rangers run into Koragg as he warns them their alliance is over, whatever dude, go patronize a bunch of criminals about honor! :P  Overall, this was consistent entertaining and progressive three part arc that saw the rangers developed nicely and risk their lives to learn a lesson that finally earned them something instead of being randomly given spell codes so much.  Sure, the show is still annoying and painfully mediocre for the most part, but at least these episodes were successful in making our heroes worthy and honorable (Oh God, Koragg....stay away! -_-)
