Season 23, Episode 10: Gone Fishin'
"Gone Fishin'"
Episode 10
Air Date: August 27th, 2016
Finally, the show returns to what we all love about it: the great writing, the hilarious comedy, the great action and did Keeper actually HELP again!??? O_O What the hell!?? Thank God, this was an arc episode having to do with continuing to find the last energem as the last couple of filler episodes have been so hard to sit through. I mean NOT Megaforce bad but STILL! O_o This episode feels more in like with how the show has been at its best instead of how bizarre the characters and these episode plots have come before. After Prince Phillip and James Navarro return with having no signs of the silver energem anywhere on Earth (How they searched everywhere on Earth for it is a mystery but given Prince Phillip's money and expeditions.....???) just as the rangers receive a signal of an object landing in Amber Beach. It turns out to be a transmission from the Silver Ranger himself who says that he is the Silver Ranger and bonded with the energem awhile ago, meaning his zord, the Titanosaur zord is awakened but weakened due to the distance of him being...you know....in outer space. :P But before they can get the location of the Titano Zord, Singe, Fury and the rest of Heckyl's forces arrive as Singe destroys the transmission so the rangers can't find it. While Fury is pissed that he destroyed, the two forces engage in battle after the rangers morph. Luckily, the 5 rangers present were able to send Singe and rest temporarily defeat enough to get the broken transmission and retreat.
Meanwhile, Koda, Shelby and Chase having been enjoying an afternoon of fishing alongside Riley and his cow boy brother Matt but the two have been getting into it because of Riley's desperate need to make it a competition. Oh Riley, what is up with you lately!? O_O Smdh..... Back the base, the rangers try to make something out of the broken transmission but with no luck while Singe apparently knows where the Titano Zord is......for some mysterious reason. O_o Anyway, the villains use a monster named Hookbeard to try and destroy Titano Zord but end up sending Riley's brother falling into the lake. When Chase discovers Matt's boat damaged, they try to find him as Matt wakes up to find himself in the Titano Zord itself. Managing to call his brother and sending him a pic to reveal he is in the Titano Zord, the rest of the team arrives to help stop Hookbeard as all 7 rangers morph to fight off Fury and a bunch of Vivix. Surprisingly, Poisandra and Curio are there too helping in the fight....ummmm where have they been exactly?! -_-
Anyway, during the fight, Fury gets the upper hand on Tyler but is surprisingly saved by Keeper, who goes on to show he's a lot more powerful than previously tho since he can make the water from the entire lake disappear with magic and what not. So he could be extremely useful but let's the rangers do most of the work I see!!! Anyway, the 7 rangers soon use the Dino X and Victory chargers for a Victory Maximum finisher to destroy Hookbeard. But of course, he is just made to grow alongside some Vivix and Spikeballs (I'm guessing more general versions of the foot soldiers!? O_o). As the Titano Zord awakens, the evil forces attack it but it remains strong enough to fight back and even frees Matt from inside him. Riley demorphs to look after his brother and "thank the rangers" while Kendall arrives to give Tyler the Titano charger to activate the Titano Zord's megazord: the Titano Charge Megazord....which has to be the best looking megazord this season. It has a very ethereal and majestic feel like the Mystic Force Zords in design. The rangers use their new megazord to destroy the giant foot soldiers as well as Hookbeard for good while Heckyl questions how Singe knew where to find the Titano Zord in the first place. When Singe tries to attack Heckyl for asking questions, Heckyl blasts him back even harder; leaving him to retreat and telling Heckyl about how even more evil "his boss" is. Oh boy! O_o All and All, Gone Fishin' feels like a superb return to form after the last few suck-fest of episodes that makes for a solid arc episode that pushes the story forward in new, promising ways. :)
