Season 22, Episode 7: Let Sleeping Zords Lie

"Let Sleeping Zords Lie"
Episode 7
Air Date: March 21st, 2015

Focusing now on Shelby, our dinosaur expert, "Let Sleeping Zords Lie" (Excellent title by the way! :) sees the pink ranger once again adamant about proving herself to Ms. Morgan as well as the rest of her teammates.....of course, she could have asked for some of their drinks instead of just drinking them all while the guys were digging.  Like all the characters this season, I simply adore Shelby, she's spunky and self assured by just wanting people to see that in her as well.  Honestly, her calling out Ms. Morgan for underestimating her was a defining moment and a little overdue considering how rudely she tried to dismiss Shelby so far as one of the rangers, especially in "Past, Present and Fusion".  Camille Hyde is doing better and better in the role, not to mention it was great seeing her and Ms. Morgan finally getting along for once as well as seeing two female characters working hard on an invention on this show is really refreshing and awesome. As the guys arrive back to the base, the two unveil their invention, the E tracer which will be powered by the Anklo charger so the rangers can track that particular energem through satellite frequency.  It's a really smart plan and I thoroughly enjoy seeing the rangers being so proactive about finding the other energems.

Unfortunately, on the villain side of things, Wrench ends up tapping into the tracer's frequency when Poisandra plans to take on the rangers herself and beat them to an energem.  As the rangers track down the location of the tracer's pin pointing a possible energem or zord, they run into Sting Rage and a squad of Vivix who has already dug underground.  I have to say, this was such an excellent unmorphed fight; feeling more intense with a great rock soundtrack like the old days.  Tho Shelby's stunt double is a bit too noticeable at first. LOL  Also during the fight, Sting Rage stings one of the rangers with his stingers which causes him to rage out (Oh so that's why....:P) , leaving the rangers hold him down so they can take the stinger off him....but it isn't easy at first.  I love how this show isn't holding back with the fight choreography! Jesus those punches Tyler was taking from Koda as well as him tossing them around at one point because of how strong he is! O_O  Yikes.  Too bad Koda wasn't the only one stung by Sting Rage as the Anyklo zord raises and attacks the rangers briefly before borrowing back into the ground.  As the rangers regroup and figure out their next move to free the zord from the stinger,  both Shelby and Kendall admit to being the ones in letting the villains finding the whereabouts of the zord.  As Kendall heads out to right her mistake, Shelby follows and tries to assist but the two end up getting attack by Sting Rage, Poisandra and a group of Vivix.

As Shelby falls into the large hole trying to protect Ms. Morgan from the blast, she morphs and lands at the bottom as the Anyklo zord has her in its sights by preparing to attack as Shelby tries to figure out how to get the stinger off of it.  Meanwhile, Kendall tries her best to fend off the foot soldiers and does a pretty good job all things considered.  Tho I have to chuckle hard at the continued use of a shovel as a weapon on this show as well as that hilarious near sighted comment Sting Rage makes to Kendall before the Vivix attack her.  LOL! Luckily when Kendall can no longer defend herself, the other rangers arrive to protect her, tho Tyler in particular is very eager to save Shelby...what the!??? Are we seeing the beginning of a potential new ranger relationship on the team.  Hell, ANYTHING has to be better than Mike and Emily or Jake and Gia! -_-

Anyway, turns out Shelby doesn't need no man to save her as she raises from the ground with Ankylo zord under her control. Hmmmm! Would have been nice to see how she pulled it off but instead the rangers face off against their enemies as Shelby takes out Sting Rage solo with her Tricera Drill.  But Sledge of course makes him grow; leading the rangers to try the new Dino Charge Megazord Tri-Ankylo formation! Jesus, so many formations! But at least these zords aren't being thrown at the rangers left and right! They actually have to find and earn them! I know right???? O_o lol Also, it appears with the Ankylo Zord active, someone is out there who has already bonded to the Aqua energem.  Hmmmmmm, nice mystery there.  Also, we get more hilarious animosity between Poisandra and Fury which seems to be developing into a legit rivalry and I'm all for it honestly.  Their banter is priceless and really love seeing where its going.  Overall, "Let Sleeping Zords Lie" is another hit and gets more right than it could ever get wrong in plot, character development of one of the rangers and hilarious/entertaining dialogue. :)
