Season 21, Episode 13: The Grass is Always Greener....Or Bluer

"The Grass Is Always Greener...Or Bluer"
Episode 13
Air Date: October 4th, 2014

Meh.......if you're gonna do a body switch episode (which has become one of Power Rangers' most used plot devices for the franchise), why have the main body switch feel more like a B plot to the story than have it actually be the main story by exploring both characters within each others' bodies.  Jesus, I think even Switching Places back in Season 1 did this BETTER! O_o  Besides visually trying to look like themselves in each others' bodies while trying to go through a normal day of school, there isn't any lesson attached to it or some sort of character development that could have been had.  Imagine if Jake and Noah had to teach each other how to themselves in certain situations like Noah having to play soccer after school for a game or Jake have to tutor some students or was apart of some kind of special academic club.  I mean we get a brief moment between Jake in Noah's body and Mr. Burley in his office but nothing that's really substantial and just used as a lame joke to throw at the audience.  Also, apparently Gia is sooo into Jake more now that Noah is in his body which is just so odd and creepy! Not to mention, undermines Jake and how she's been into him by saying she rather be with Jake if he was a smarty pants like Noah. -_-

Anyway, outside of the switch issue, Noah is currently working on a new weapon for the rangers to use in battle.  Yeah, they are actually making their weapons instead of Gosei throwing more stuff at them when a battle gets too tough.  And even in this episode where they finally get the Super Mega Cannon, Gosei still gives the rangers a new zord formation because they unlocked the Ninja Storm zord......-_-............ Why even bother anymore, it's so ridiculous to be mad at something that doesn't take itself seriously at all and just rushes through footage just for the sake of EVERY. DAMN, episode promoting some new toy for kids to buy! Yes, Power Rangers is hugely about the toys sales but my goodness, there is already no story with no explanation for literally anything we've seen the past 2 season so far and instead of answering them, we just get more questions after questions after questions.  Ewwwwww, whatever! There are two monsters this episode, one of Tranceferer who is responsible for the ranger body switch and Turtlelini, who the rangers must use their new weapon to defeat him first since his shield is so impenetrable.  I'm glad at least Noah's weapon failed at first, needing him to build a stronger one, with the help of the rest of the team of course.

Meanwhile, the villain continue to be pathetic, especial Vekar who should be ashamed of himself and giving up on this takeover of Earth already.  It's beyond pitiful! All those attack ships and vast army of foot soldiers yet the rangers bet you everytime when you could just overwhelm them.  I mean this has been an issue since Zeo, when the Machine Empire could have just swarmed Earth with hundreds of Quadrafighters and Cogs which could have easily defeated the rangers' weapons and arsenal by sheer numbers but there's unfortunately a pattern to these fights aka how the villains handle the rangers in terms of combat.  One monster leading their forces while the rangers react with their weapons and megazord battles.  I also find it funny how Orion was just missing until he randomly shows up for the last battle.  Apparently, he was busy working on his ship and didn't hear his morpher go off.....uhhh huhhhh! -_-  Typical episode from an empty headed season!
