Season 21, Episode 11: Love Is In The Air

"Love Is In the Air"
Episode 11
Air Date: September 13th, 2014

Idk, maybe I've gone completely and utterly insane from watching these series so consistently the past month or so but.....I actually thoroughly enjoyed this one.  As far as comedic episodes go, this is probably the strongest the show had done during those years of the franchise and it makes more sense in that case since it focuses on a a time ole gag of the show when one of the villains falls for one of the rangers.  The way it's handled is genuinely laugh out loud hilarious sometimes, especially the over the top sequence of Levira protecting Jake from Invidious when its clearly a life size dummy with Jake's clothes on being thrown around.  HA! :)  The monster of the week aka Invidious was also very entertaining in his hopeless mission to win Levira's heart! His love potion ending up making her fall in love with Jake was a nice twist that proved to be an even more hilarious idea that was surprisingly well executed by the writers for once.  For once, even the rangers are made to look somewhat smart by trying to save the day with their brains and not random new power/zord/upgrade #256!!! -_-

I loved seeing Jake turning the tables and helping Invidious to win Levira's heart instead....of course, it also makes him go after the rangers and try to kill them so....LOL.  Surprisingly, after an intense megazord battle, Invidious doesn't die but ends up back at the main armada ship defeated and Levira ANYTHING but interested in him.  It's just nice that we finally got some personality with these monsters that doesn't seem to be present anymore!  I actually cared about Invidious and his love for Levira as it provided some genuine levity in the rangers' fight against the armada.  He had some hilariously priceless lines and seeing him run through the rangers to go after Jake was just too funny!

But of course, the episode has its own message when it comes to Jake and his own feelings toward Gia.  Tho it doesn't make sense to be that Gia KNOWS Jake is into her and Jake KNOWS Gia is into him but they are some how unable to hit it off.  There are moments throughout where they both seem interested in each other, even Gia mentioning how impressed she is by Jake's ingenuity during the last fight but they are some how....not a couple yet??? As a matter of Gia has shown interest several times toward Jake's face but...he has to actually ask her out???!!! Not to mention, the actual moment of him asking is beyond hilarious with Troy giving off the most expressive, comedic face I have ever seen!!! WOW! O_O  The acting REALLY IS the fault of the directors on this show.  Jesus, you can tell the cast is able when given the opportunity but most of the time, it's like Andrew Gray isn't allowed to emote as apart of his contract.  Yikes! But overall, "Love Is in the Air" works for a light hearted adventure that doesn't continuous offended in insufferable ways as this show usually does so bravo! :)
