Season 20, Episode 15: The Human Factor

"The Human Factor"
Episode 15
Air Date: September 13th, 2013

Oh so we're trying to make a statement about robots being so different and ahead of humans that they must inherit the Earth now by some plot revolving around a new villain???  Meh.  Megaforce doesn't have even an ounce of sophistication to pull this off as they don't even give the story enough time and depth to really be more than just your average episode.  Tho I commend them for at least trying to make the kids think instead of endless fights and preachy messages about protecting the Earth and what not.  Like I said, we're introduced to a new villain this episode aka a new general for Vrak after building his underwater lair: Metal Alice.  Being an advanced robot, she of course thinks her robot creations will be the perfect tool in finally defeating the rangers once and all.  How they always think their plan is a "once and for all" ender!?? SMH! Anyway, she reveals her first creation, Rotox, a machine that seems practically indestructible that it can even best Alice in battle as a demonstration. As usual, the rangers are doing absolutely nothing interesting or contributing to any sort of character development before heading out for an onslaught of fight scenes with no real significance! -_-  Of course when Robo Knight, it's a chance for him to see his own kind before Rotox is destroyed by the rangers.  This leads Alice to thinking she can persuade Robo Knight to join their side.

I mean it isn't exactly the worst plan by trying to manipulate some of the same species as you or machine in their case but when Alice tempts Robo Knight with telling him how humans are destroying the Earth and that robots are the future of the world's survival...it really doesn't go anywhere.  All Robo Knight does is walk away after the fight, look over the city to ponder for a second and by the next fight, he already made up his mind that humans and robots can work together/I'm here to defend the Earth from any threats blah, blak, blah, blah! Ummmmmm...why do a tell, NOT show strategy tho???! I mean even during Wild Force, even if the Kit storyline was beyond trash, AT LEAST the Orgs made a very plausible point of humans turning the world into a wasteland.  Alice just assumes just because Robo Knight is a fellow Robot he's just going to join them! Seriously, I'm already missing the seasons where the villains actually had well thought out plans, traps or battle tactics against the rangers, now it's all "Join us!" " Ok, you won't join us! Then you're dead!" -_-  That's it! How riveting! Not to mention, the rangers are beating their enemies too easy despite the writing trying to show us how much stronger the villains are becoming.

Not only do they destroy Rotox, but even after being supposedly upgraded by Metal Alice to be soooo much stronger and deadlier than before, the rangers alongside Robo Knight defeat him so easily.  Just call on their ultra mode and he's dead! Not to mention, the fact that the rangers once again have such a vast and limit arsenal of zords makes the threats seem more like an inconvenience.   But then again that's what happens when you try to cram 40+ episodes worth of story into 20 damn episodes! -_-  Just a bunch of Sentai scenes cut together but there's no story at all.  Even this supposed story with Robo Knight is meaningless.  And it's all to show what??? He's beginning to really enjoy being around humans???  Oh boy....... Nothing more to say.  Next episode........sigh.......*Boredom continues*
