Season 20, Episode 12: Last Laugh

"Last Laugh"
Episode 12
Air Date: September 28th, 2013

I guess.....this episode was something a tad bit unusual and different for the show.  Sooooo the moral of the story is learning how to not take things so seriously and laugh.  Of course, Noah is the character in question.....yes, Noah.....NOT Troy again! Because that'd make TOO much sense!!! :P  But yes, Noah doesn't find jokes funny and doesn't laugh at them, making him the perfect candidate to learn this very silly if not nonsensical lesson for kids to have a sense of humor. Yes, Vrak has sent his latest monster, NoJoke (meh! we've had worse names! :P) down to Earth to trap people in his jug or whatever whenever they laugh.  Gia is immediately captured as well as an audience at a comedy show in the middle of the city.  So the rangers have to not only free the hundreds of being being taken by NoJoke when they laugh but they have to prevent themselves from laughing as well or they'll be captured too.  It's a funny dilemma to say the least that plays out far better than I expected.  The rangers actually have to be strategic.....of rather, Troy coming up with a plan to send Robo Knight and Noah after the monster since one is a robot and the other doesn't see the humor in jokes at all.  Seriously, how is this NOT a Troy episode! The rangers should have beaten this monster easily with Mr. Stone Face Pretty Boy himself!!! O_O

Unfortunately, the plan backfires and NoJoke is able to capture Jake and Emma now.  Robo Knight continues to be a laughless Robo d!ck and wants to tackle the monster on his own.  So much for that teamwork lesson!!! -_- While Troy and Noah try to figure out what to do next....or rather, Troy AGAIN! -_-  And his plan??? Try to get Noah to laugh to attract the monster to them.  How does Troy plan to do this??? By telling dumb jokes and forcing his face to move for the first in potentially 16-18 years! Yes, Troy is making funny faces and trying to get some super serious to laugh.  I think the unintentional irony of this scene in particular is why this episode is beyond priceless for me at this point.  Then Noah laughs at one of the lamest jokes ever BECAUSE! making NoJoke come to them.  What happens next is just....WOW! Troy and Noah morph to confront NoJoke as well as Robo Knight showing up but Troy is unable to hold his laughter when...NoJoke lets one rip in the loudest and obnoxious fashion!  How can Andrew's ADD be so expressive when he morphs but when in civilian form he's.......O_O  Anyway, with Noah and Robo Knight the only ones left since Troy got captured because of toilet humor (literally! o_O), they both decide to finally put their differences aside and come up with a plan to make NoJoke laugh.  It works and being he's about to get sucked into his own jug thing, he has to destroy it; freeing everyone from it as well as the other rangers.

All things considered, not a bad plan actually.  It's smart and pretty creative way to defeat the monster instead of some random power up, new zords, etc. coming out of nowhere to save the day as usual this season. -_- From the the episode concludes in typical fashion, rangers defeat NoJoke, NoJoke grows thanks to Vrak's zombats, the rangers call on their megazords for a brawl that ends with them destroying the monster for good.  So now Noah has learned a lesson about finding jokes funny, even if his jokes are the worst.  Or maybe his jokes are better than the ones the rangers told actually.  Two walls meeting in the corner is a lot funnier than anything they said during the episode. Awww even Robo Knight can get jokes now....but Troy still can't emote without forcing his face to move! What gives! :P A genuinely enjoyable episode for what it was. :)
