Season 15, Episode 29: Way Back When

"Way Back When"
Episode 29
Air Episode: October 22, 2007

As usual, episodes like this are soooo easy to review because it is just a clip show.  When is comes to clip shows for this show, they are usually boring half hours of the rangers reminiscing about the past 20-30+ episodes or show simply because the production needs to save some money down the line and give us an episode very light on story.  I can only name on one hand where these clip shows actually had a purpose and played a plot in the overall narrative of the season.  "Calm Before The Storm" (Time Force), "Insomnia" (S.P.D.) and maybe "A Test of Trust" from Dino Thunder are the only exceptions I can remember off the top of my head so far.  And yes, while "Way Back When" plays a part in the narrative as the rangers figure out the whereabouts of the last jewel, we are honestly reminded how surprisingly (or should I say "unsurprisingly" at this point?! O_O) incompetent these people are. You're telling me you guys have no idea who has what in terms of the crown and jewels??? -_-  That's what happens as Rose is examining the Octavian Chalice while Ronny and Dax having some predictably juvenile back and forth argument about something I'm not ready to care about myself. O_O  This isn't rocket science people, you have  3 jewels, Miratrix and Kamdor have 1 jewel and Moltor has the crown itself....anyone with the most basic mental capacity or aka common sense wouldn't need to go back to the beginning of this season to know this!

But apparently, the rangers need to use Mack as he has back up memory of their adventure all season so far in his CPU.  Ohhhhh really that's nice!!! But let me ask a quick, minor questions......why are most of these clips ones that MACK WASN"T EVEN THERE!??? -_- How does he remember that and have footage verbatim of what transpired during those events when he wasn't present. Sure, the same could be said for Tommy documenting all that footage of 11 years of ranger history but that can be looked over because the episode is sooooo nostalgic, ridiculous entertaining and excellently written.  Here, we must suffer through re-watching Operation Overdrive from start to this point while Dax makes jokes about needing popcorn.....sigh....... Of course, the rangers remember where they have found each jewel and can't figure out what it means to finding the last one until Spencer is the only one smart enough to pretty much make things clear for Rose to figure it out.  Seriously, how is Rose this all knowing college professor/geneticist/researcher if it takes the butler to give her a clue that makes sense for her to figure it out.  No offense to Spencer because he really is the smartest person on this show but when Rose is suppose to be the smartest person and can't figure it out....WOW! -_-

So rangers figure out to go back to the locations of the relics they found that led them to their respective and use the databas to show that each location forms a diamond around the location of the last jewel based on when the continents were all connect aka pangaea which shows Greece as the final local for the jewel....wow...I guess that was worth 20 minutes of finding out....yay!!! No one was keeping track of who had what all this time??? Not even Hartford, who is mysterious absent this episode??? WOW!!! All that power and technology at their disposable yet they don't understand how a memory works...BRAVO!!! Do I even need to say anymore here??? About at empty and stupid as this show gets honestly!!! -_-
