"Once A Ranger, Part 2"
Episode 21
Air Date: July 16th, 2007(Jetix)/July 23rd, 2007
I hate these rangers. I hate these villains. I absolutely, positively sure this really is the worst season of the show thus far. Still got until Beast Morphers aka like 10-12 seasons to go much my goodness, this is one of the most irredeemable seasons of the show. Why the hell didn't Adam just use the Zeo powers instead of Sentinel Not bringing back the original MMPR powers???!!! Hmmmmm, want me to rant about something else?!!! :) How bout Sentinel Useless returning to suddenly tell Mack not to give up and Once a Ranger crap advice. Dude, you're the reason why they decided to pack things up and leave; especially considering this team of rangers are about as committed to saving the day as Donald Trump is committed to coherent sentences!!! -_- Now all of sudden you want Mack and the others to keep fighting??? Also what is this Excelsior non-sense!!??? -_- Now out of nowhere there's a weapon that can kill you. Anyway, in Angel Grove...or just some random warehouse in Angel Grove...groan!!! -_- The veteran rangers run into a squad of Chillers after them when they all decide to kick their asses in their own way to their season's respective theme songs! .....oh except for Adam because apparently the rights for the original MMPR theme weren't available so while Adam is being a badass and fighting old school to a terribly generic instrumental music, the other rangers are using elemental magic, ninja powers and dinosaur sonic screams to defeat their enemies. Just saying! :P Oh and Bridge can't stop flipping for a moment but whatever he's Bridge! The f$%^! O_o Anyway, they came for some box in the warehouse that will help the rangers get their powers back......oh dear gawd, the horrors that are about to be unleashed worse than Pandora's box!!! O_O
So back to this season's team who are back to doing what they did before Operation Overdrive and they....just look so bored by their lives all of a sudden. Then there's Tyzonn just randomly walking throw a field......I'm sorry, I'm done. :) These. are. NOT. Power Rangers!!! These are a bunch of narcissistic, egotistical morons who only cared about being the heroes instead of what it means to be a hero. From the very first season to last season, there has at least been a one or two moments where the rangers were powerless or had to keep fighting despite overwhelming odds. These people, these characters, NOT rangers, are the complete anti-thesis of the show's overarching message of the hero(es) making the powers powerful, NOT the powers making a bunch of teens useful and have some sort of purpose. These literally and embarrassing no moment where any of these 6 characters realizes they need to keep fighting or realize how important being a ranger is despite not having powers. OMG!!! Even when Mack and the others try to grab Excelsior, they just give up and walk away; blaming the fact they can't do it because they aren't rangers. Yes, I agree Ronny, you guys aren't rangers. Tommy and the MMPR would have made a cheesy, inspiring speech about what truly makes them rangers, Max and Danny would annoyed us over the head with their catch phrase to keep the team going, Carter would have said, "f%^& it! We got work to do!", Wes would have taken control of his destiny, even the second string Turbo Rangers fought to the very hopeless end and even after they lost their powers, their base and their zords, they STILL went into space to try to stop their main villain of that season and save a mentor they never truly knew because they were still all the Earth had left. That is what Power Rangers, at least the show, was all about despite the apparent vacancy of the show's concept and the vacuous toy marketing empire it has been since 1993. Here, these rangers have no sense of duty, bravery or inner strength as the only reason they even continue to be rangers is.....deciding to stay to help Mack pull the sword from the statue......O_O.....I know I have like 11 episodes left to watch but I'm officially on autopilot with this show, I'm sorry, NOT sorry. -_-
Wow, I got so caught up in my ranting that I forgot about the even worse offender of this two parter!!! So what was in that box in that warehouse??? Apparently, Alpha 6....who's voice is the equivalent of hearing cats being over by a homicidal manic who is blasting the most insufferable music possible while doing it. ANY of the previous 3 voice actors not available??? You're telling me this was the BEST you could do given this anniversary??? Omg, you poor kids watching this crap in 2007; being your first Power Rangers experience......*tears rain down my face and flood my room*. So Mr. Hartford and Adam are gonna use Alpha to help them repair the part of the morphin' grid to give the team their powers back. Nice! Awwwww, a Zordon reference....out of that hellish spawn of a electronic nightmare voice....hahahahahahha.....*SNAPPING*!!! Ohhh and then, and then, AND THEN...while the veteran rangers are fighting one of Thrax's monsters in the Overdrive megazords... Mack comes out of nowhere with the sword and...and.....jumps into the air to completely slash the giant monster in half to save the day and completely destroy it. AHAHAHAH!!! This is amazing!!! Like...WTF!!? The writers just gave up and went wild!!! Lord, what utter insanity!!! So the Overdrive losers give Sentinel Ghost thing Excelsior and it gives him his powers back fully as well as gives him a corporeal form he can use in battle.......it's cool looking and I like the design....see, a positive piece of gold among a tremendously endless pile of.....:) Oh and Alpha fixed the morphin' grid issue and the current team can morph again.........*mistakenly puts some disinfectant in my popcorn* Whoops! ha! :) Awww look at this final battle and some random upgraded monster as the villains assemble to face off against the team-up of rangers. Everything SUCKS!!! About this....well, until Sentinel Knight comes in and destroys Thrax and Adam gets to wear the Defender vest. But that's it, Kalishplosions running a muck more than ever, random theme song for one of the most experience rangers in one of the most classic suits, that horrendous form of musical anthrax plays while Tyzonn is fighting etc. This anniversary episodes......I think.....there's nothing more to say. Morphenominal is said by Adam even though it makes no sense and we get a go, go Power Rangers group huddle and jump like the first episode.......yeah......yeah...yeahhhhh o_o
Final Morph: F-
