Season 15, Episode 19: One Gets Away

Power Rangers Operation Overdrive - One Gets Away - The Blue ...
"One Gets Away"
Episode 18
Air Date: June 9th, 2007

Once again, the only thing this season has going for it and seriously, the only thing is literal in the secrecy behind what Mr. Hartford and Spencer are hiding about back.  It's just funny how all this effort is being put into a plot twist that's about to be revealed much later in the season instead of I don't know the main story line of the season as the jewel searching is becoming less adventurous and immersive mission than initially presented.  But then again, Operation Overdrive has sooooo many other issues besides story that it's hard to enjoy this season at all, not just keeping up with all the meandering mediocrity and idiotic inconsistencies.  Anyway, the episode opens with a hilarious bit with the 6 rangers almost going underwater thanks to Rose being too focused on finding the third jewel,,,,oohhh Rose, don't be a dumb dumb like the others!!! Please!!! You're the ranger I realize I hate the least but you're not doing yourself any favors with moments like this.  Anyway, the Fear Cats pay Moltor a visit as they want to make a truce (what's with these various truces between different factions when they always end badly this season??? O_o) So Moltor decides to play nice and give the Fear Cats a map to some ancient powerful armor they can use to defeat the rangers.  Meanwhile, after finally finding the third jewel, the rangers must deal with the Fear Cats who are attacking the city with a powerful new giant robot.  To make the third jewel doesn't end up in wrong hands, Will says he'll bring the jewel back to the mansion while the other 5 deal with them.  Unfortunately, Miratrix and Kamdor have been watching the rangers and confront Will for the jewel.  After a tough battle between him and them, they get their hands on the third jewel and escape.

What follows next is once again, an aspect about this season I find hilariously baffling, as Will tells Hartford of him losing the jewel and quickly resigning from his duties as a ranger.  Not to mention, if that isn't worse, Hartford takes his tracker and takes his resignation.....WHAT!!!??? Are you f&$#ing kidding me!!?? You have these rangers ready to quit left or right this season and now Hartford has the audacity to accept it......ummmmmm, didn't you lose the whole CROWN to Moltor.  How is it that Spencer, a supporting character...the butler (not saying a butler can't have incredible insight and foresight!) can be more aware of how urgent this situation is to NOT let Will just quit and give him his tracker to help his current team of rangers who need his help as well as remind the freakin' mentor to NOT be a hypocrite and keep him on the team despite his mistakes!?? I just.... It's like the writers are not only inconsistent but don't know how to make any of the other character worth a damn besides Spencer at this point.  Jesus, how is Hartford a billionaire genius archaeologist when his butler is wiser than he can ever be! Sure wisdom and intelligence are different but are you kidding me regardless?? -_- I'm just gonna move and go to Will coming back to help the team but the Fear Cats overwhelming the rangers after their battle in the city (Seriously, what is the name of this city again??? O_o)  Luckily, Will manages to follow to follow one of the Fear Cats after the battle and steal the map from them; leading him to ancient Samurai armor.  Unfortunately, the same Fear Cat follows Will and manages to get the armor before the rangers and add it to their giant robot which makes it even more powerful than before! Yikes!!!

So even with both megazords against the Samurai armored robot, the rangers are still severely outmatched! After Will declares he lost the jewel and they can't stop fights, blah, blah, blah, we get a pretty awesome zord battle as the rangers use multiple new zord formations with the auxiliary zords which shows the rangers really giving it their all this battle by trying to not only outsmart their enemies but out maneuver them with various zord combinations.  Luckily, the rangers are able to destroy the robot as well as regain the armor thanks to Will's sudden determination.  I got to say, the DriveMax Megazord with the Rescue Runners as arms was the best looking/badass formation of them all. Nice!!! As the episode concludes, Hartford address all the rangers as well as apologizing to Will about giving up on him so quick.  ....As well as once again, Hartford and Spencer elude to a major secret they are keeping.  Besides, the ending zord battle with so many different zord combinations, "One Gets Away" is annoying as hell with the continued trend of giving up and the character being so nonsensical when the odds are against them.  I mean I can't route for them anymore and the season is only half way over!! My goodness, I wish Max and Danny were here to shout "Never Give UP!" cause as much as that crap was infuriatingly overused, at least they kept fighting and didn't come off as complete losers sometimes.  Sigh....
