Season 23, Episode 18: The Rangers Rock!

"The Rangers Rock!"
Episode 18
Air Date: November 15th, 2016

Well, as always after a huge revelation last episode, the next one tends to fully explain things with this series as Sledge finally tells his crew, especially Poisandra what he's been up too.  You know, it's not every show that can balance diabolical final plans juxtaposed to Sledge going on vacation around the world, including singing in a Japanese club surrounded by club goers.  Oh Power Rangers!!! :P  But luckily, Tyler's dad is around and manages to discover Sledge's crash ship, especially when Snide hands him the dark energem as a way to get it up and running again.  Meanwhile, Zenowing happens upon a geode, which apparently is the same things he used as an incubation chamber for creating new zords.  Shelby shocked and excited by the information, Zenowing decides to teach her how to create one; which of course will become pivotal to the episode's conclusion.  As Tyler's dad returns, Kendall bands the whole team together in the base and I gotta say it's awesome to see all 10 rangers assembling for the first time, especially during the final battle of the episode.  It's the first series to have ten rangers on a team and I have to say between both seasons, the writers managed to balance them off well.

But unfortunately even with all 10 energems now in their possession, apparently the full power of all 10 can't be unlocked until the dark energem is destroyed.  As all 10 rangers and Keeper try to come up with plan, Shelby suggests they sneak onto Sledge's ship to take them by surprise by going on the offensive and destroying the dark energem there.  Too bad Sledge had prepared for this as his men are alerted to the rangers coming toward them thanks to their defenses put outside the ship.  As all 10 rangers try to ambush the ship, an army of Vivix rise to stop them.  As the rangers fight, Sledge has also sent a monster, Badussa to stop the rangers as he proceeds to turn them all too stone.  Luckily, Shelby witnessing this is horrified but still manages to stop Prince Phillip and Tyler's dad from being turned to stone as well.  As they had and take shelter from Badussa, Heckyl arrives out of nowhere to attack Badussa to the rest of the rangers shock and amazement.  After both he and Badussa retreat, the rest of the team take the stones back to base as they wonder how to bring the 7 stoned rangers back to normal (That sounded less funny in my head! :P)  Keeper tells them the only way is to destroy Badussa's stone turning amulet but must also consider that the remaining rangers have no zords with their own cockpits now that the other teammates are turned to stone. They figure since Shelby learned from Zenowing how to create zords, that they need her to create a new one to form a new megazord.  While Shelby is unsure, not to mention down on herself because her plan led to the team mostly getting turned to stone is hesitant at first but thanks to Prince Phillip's inspiring words and Keeper's encouragement, she decides she's up to the task by choosing a Spinosaurus' DNA to create the basis for the new zord.

I really love how they once again utilize Shelby's dinosaur knowledge by here being the one to do this and she manages to create one....before it melts into the ground.  Also, Keeper shares his spirit with the zord to give it life.  Yeah, apparently that's an ingredient??? O_o  Anyway, while tracking the movement of birthing zord, they run into Heckyl, who they confront at first but soon learn his planet, Sentai 6, was the one that was destroyed by Lord Arcanon as well as needed the energems to bring his planet back from destruction.  But before the rangers can get an answer to that shocking revelation, Badussa returns as both Shelby, Prince Phillip, Mr. Navarro and even Keeper join forces to battle him. When Badussa's amulet becomes free, Shelby and Heckyl combine forces to destroy it.....before Heckyl gives her an ominous warning of getting off the planet as soon as she can.  Meanwhile, the rest of the team returns to normal and heads in their direction.  As Badussa is grown by Sledge's magna beam, Keeper senses the new zord near by as it bursts out of the ground to reveal a Spino Zord.  With the combined Pacho Zord and Ankylo zord, the four form the Spino Charge Megazord Ankylo-Pachy Formation.  This would make the fifth zord in the rangers' arsenal and it once again looks better than the first few.  I even like its boomerang attack that the rangers use to defeat him.

But unfortunately Badussa survives the blast which leds to the aforementioned last battle where all 10 rangers combine forces and fight off an army of Vivix to destroy Badussa once and for all.  With Tyler's Supercharge form and the all 10 rangers using their combined powers for the Victory Maximum finisher, Badussa is destroyed....yet Sledge couldn't be happier considering his final plan is such a sure thing that no city on this Earth with survive. Uhhhh ohhhh, as the rangers regroup at the base, they discuss Sledge's return as well as Heckyl's cryptic message as they couldn't be more fearful of what Sledge has in store to make the Earth have to be evacuated! O_O  Overall, a very solid even strong episode that begins the final fight between the 10 Dino Charge Rangers and Sledge himself. Now for the two part finale! WOOOOOO! :)
