Season 15, Episode 10: Lights, Camera, Dax

"Lights, Camera, Dax"
Episode 10
Air Date: May 7th, 2006

Awwwww, are you guys ready for yet another rant because GOD do I. HATE. DAX!!! :)  Who in their right mind would created such an obnoxious, annoying character who literally makes almost any scene he has dialogue in insufferable???  Not to mention, Gareth Yuen constantly giving one of the most excruciating over the top performances of this show...EVER!!! O_O  Constantly twitching with every line delivery and gesturing like he's going through some serious drug withdrawal as he simply can't wait until he finds his next fix! All I'm saying is, tone his character ALL the way done from a grown man on a sugar rush to a pretty likable character who is just odd and a goofball like Bridge??? O_o  This episode continues to make Dax look like the weakest link of the team in terms of common sense and basic human logic as he rather audition for some big budget marital arts film that they are shooting in town instead of...you know....looking for clues to the nest jewel and saving the freakin' world.  Jesus, even Ronny has the good sense to say no and that his ranger duties are more important than his dream of being a lead in a movie.  Funny how Ronny is the rational, mature one here as Hartford backs her and tells Dax no on being in the movie, Rose, of all people, convinces him to audition anyway despite knowing very well their mission is too point for Dax to take up following his dreams right now. But she does and it just seems so out of character as I would have expected Ronny to do this, not Rose.  Seriously, why all of a sudden would she want him to go after her dreams especially when the fate of the world is at stake!!! What's the point of going after your dreams if the freakin' world ends??? O_O

Also, the way Dax gets his role by saving the director was fine, if not a bit too forced, the fact that he says yes when Rose told him to say "no" and he said he would, makes Dax look even more like a brainless selfless idiot!!! -_-  And if that wasn't bad enough...even when Dax is sacrificing his ranger duties at the moment to film his scene he decides to very last minute decide he can't do it and must go off to rejoin the time.  Oh that's nice!!! Lesson learned right....but it makes absolutely NO. SENSE!!! since all Dax had to do to finish his scene after the fight sequence was to grab the damn statue and then....WRAPPED!!! Scene over!!! So not only did he waste the time of the rangers but of the director and the production team who can now not use the footage because Dax ruined the scene because he didn't just grab the damn statue, the only thing he had to do to take a freakin' second to do, then he could quit and go off to help the rangers....I....WWHAAATTT!??! -_- It really is unfathomable how dumb the writing is this season as these scenarios are played for dramatic resolution to character development within an episode but are complete inept and contrived when onscreen it just makes the character look completely incapable of making the right decision by being so indecisive that it throws the whole point of the lesson completely out the window!!! Also, there's a moment where Dax could have gone after Miratrix and Kamdor but just chooses to find a way out of the cave than stop them from getting closer to finding the jewel.

Oh speaking of the terrible twosome, they caught in a battle between them and Moltor which leads them to assembling their own army of monsters and....ninja stuntmen put under a spell by Kamdor....cause! O_o  Anyway, if this episode could get more WTF??? Mr. Hartford introduces to the rangers to the Transtek Armor.  A truly horrifying looking CGI thing that Dax uses to defeat Moltor, Kamdor and Miratrix when they team up against the rangers.  No more to say on that, cause.....I'm speechless as something that probably cost a great portion of the show's budget could look so unnecessary and badly rendered but whatever, we should be use to this kind of non-sense with this show.  At least the episode ends with Rose and Dax getting punished but too little too late as it shouldn't have happened in the first place! O_O -_-  "Lights, Camera, Dax" is once again another showcase of this series failing to make a valid point among-st their truly poorly written characters juxtaposed to some of the silliest looking CGI ever!  I guess it's nice the rangers go that scroll back from Miratrix and Kamdor at least??? Meh!!! O_o
