Season 15, Episode 3: The Underwater World

"The Underwater World"
Episode 3
Air Date: March 5th, 2007

Well, I hope this doesn't become yet another season of unlikable rangers as I'm already starting to be thoroughly annoyed by most of them. If Dex isn't mugging for his life when the camera lingers on him, you have an episode where both Ronnie and especially Will are just a bunch of overzealous, selfish idiots! -_-  Apparently, Will is having trouble with working with others and works "alone" just seems so random.  Yes, I know he mentioned it in the premiere, but that's before he truly knew the scope and the stakes of their mission.  The fact he thinks he can save the world on his own??? Really not the best way to introduce a character, I mean even Shane wasn't this harsh and stuck up! -_-  Also, Hartford testing the rangers working as a team by having Spencer disguising him as a random man about to fall to his death is...extreme as hell; even without the bizarre revelation that Spencer is a master of disguise apparently. Lol Anyway, Hartford sends the rangers on a mission to the city of Atlantis to find one of the jewels. Of course, Will can't help but make trouble all throughout like almost crashing the jet during landing on an island; not to mention him and Ronnie being so careless and thoughtless while exploring the temple within Atlantis. No examining the ruins before touching and destroying things that cause booby traps that just make things worse! Ehhhhhh!!! Luckily, Mack is able to save them before they continue exploring the temple.  i don't know what's even dumber, Ronnie clumsily falling to her death or both her and Will making that rapidly collapsing bridge worse by jump onto it to follow the other rangers??? -_-  Seriously!?

Anyway, after discovering a cocoon that splits into dozens, Mack is the only one able to figure out which one is the right one.  Gotta love Mack, despite his childish obsession with adventure, he's very heroic and essential to the team.  Even his following scene with Will was very tense and touching as after saving his life (should have just taken the cocoon and left him there Macky! -_-) , he reminds him that this saving the world thing is a team effort and he absolutely can't do it alone; he needs them.  You see? Just an overall compassionate and understanding person willing to take his time to encourage a team member to do the right thing. Mack is already proving himself to be a solid leader and valiant ranger, AWESOME!!! :)

Meanwhile, Flurious is on the rangers tail as he attacks them with the Chillers to get the stone.  After Mack and soon Will rejoin the team and finish off the Chillers, Flurious just...orders the temple to rise and destroy the rangers??? Ok....??? O_o  I guess I enjoy the zord battle here simply for seeing the individual DriveMax Zords firing at the temple.  Of Will learns his lesson and he works with the rangers to finally destroy the temple with the DriveMax Megazord and it's DriveMax Saber.  Flurious just walks off all defeated....uhhhh....!? O_o  Probably going back to get mad at Norg and why would he send him off to find the jewels in the first place??? o_o  Back at Hartford's mansion, after Mack vouches for Will about them working as a team and nothing going wrong, Rose opens the mysterious cocoon to...discover a map in it to Dex's poorly acted reaction! -_-  Looks like just another key to the puzzle to finding the location of the next jewel...hmmmmm....  All and All, "The Underwater World" was equal parts engaging and annoying,  Still not feeling this team of rangers overall as only Mack seems like the only one with brains and a heart. But we'll see....
