Well, this not only looks like a very promising two parter but two of the best pair of episodes so far this season....we can only hope!  Yeah, honestly, "Man of Mercury, Part 1" actually left me hooked by the end; highly anticipating where the story would take us next as the rangers bare witness to a Tyzonn who is literally all pieces of mercury as they frantically wonder how to quickly save him.  The episode opens up with the introduction of two new villains aka our 4th faction of baddies this season in the form of the Fear Cats.  They are on Earth also looking for the jewels to the crown when they violently attack an archaeological digging sight in anger of them not being led to it's proper location.  Meanwhile in Portugal, the rangers are investigating a statue that has large markings which Rose detects are not from Earth just as Mr. Hartford sees on his monitor at the base that there's a large power surge in Brazil and tells Spencer to alert the rangers there.  In Brazil, as the Fear Cats continue their search for the jewel as they must find it to have enough power to free their army from a mirror, Miratrix and Kamdor arrive to stop them from getting their hands on it.  Nice fight, Bad new haircut Miratrix!!! O_o  Seriously, the point of a wig is to NOT look like a wig, ehhh!!! O_o Anyway, after the rangers arrive to the wreckage of the dig site, Ronny to decides to nobly stay and protect them while the others try to find the Fear Cats themselves.  Wow....the rangers being selfless and helping people....what the hell??! O_O

When the rangers run into the Fear Cats, they quickly realize their new enemies are their most powerful yet as even their civilian powers are no match from them.  But before they can morph, Tyzonn returns with a mercury attack as the rangers are shocked to see him again.  Apparently, the Fear Cats are apart of his mission as he's been tracking them down before the five in engage the again.  But the Fear Cats continue to be too powerful for the rangers even morphed and only Tyzonn is able to force them into a retreat thanks to his own powers.  While the rangers have questions about Tyzonn being there, he quickly avoids them and heads to where Ronny is to help, making them wonder what he could be hiding.  Meanwhile, Flurious has been watching and with new adversaries after the jewels, he unlocks a secret compartment in his ice cave that give him two pieces of machines that will help him turn the tide in his favor.  Meanwhile, when Tyzonn arrives to the dig sight, Ronny is shocked to see him there as the rangers catch up.  We also get a vague flashback from Tyzonn that clearly scares him a bit before he takes off after the Fear Cats once more. The rangers continue to wonder what he's been hiding from them as they split up to find the Fear Cats themselves.  As some of them use their civilian powers to look for them, Ronny is suddenly ambushed by the two and kidnap her.  They tie her up at the beach and plan to use the power from her tracker morpher to release their army from the mirror.  As the rangers find Ronny's scrunchy (Ha!!! Remember those?!), Tyzonn is there as well and reveals they must have taken her.  As they begin to track her whereabouts, Tyzonn leads the charge as they find her location and battle the Fear Cats once more.  I'm just baffled by Ronny's line about "friends in high places"...the hell??! O_o

As Tyzonn and the four rangers fight, the Fear Cats have already use the morpher to begin freeing their kind as one of more Fear Cats, even more gruesome looking than the other two is released and immediately starts attacking the rangers.  DAMMMNNN!!! O_O With more Fear Cats trying to exit the mirror, Ronny has Tyzonn throw her tracker to her so she can morph.  She does so and manages to combine forces with Tyzonn to destroy the mirror for good.  As Mack and the other rangers use the Defender Vest and Drill Blaster to blast all three Fear Cats.  One of them decides to use the last of his powers to make himself grow.  After the zords are called and they form the Super DriveMax Megazord, they finish him off with the DriveMax Ultrazord.  Unfortunately the other two Fear Cats use Tyzonn's moment of weakness while remembering more of his past to destroy him as he bursts into many pieces of mercury like I said.  It's a tense twist of events you don't see coming and I actually felt bad for him. :(
So far, the most solid and admirable episode thus far this season.  Hopefully Part 2 is at least just as good??? O_o
