Season 15, Episode 11: Face To Face, Part 1

Finally getting back to more plot movement episode instead of lackluster character episodes (especially the last one) and globe trotting by expanding the story with a new character, "Face To Face, Part 1" sees Moltor getting more impatient do to not having the parchment that leads to the second jewel now that the rangers have it.  While Rose takes Dax (I don't know why!!! -_-) and Mack with her to see an old college professor who can decipher the parchment for them in hopes of finding the next jewel, Moltor tells his lava lizards to bring in a monster named Tyzonn, who apparently swore to severe Moltor on his home planet.  After telling him to bring the parchment to him, he attacks the rangers in London and steals it back while they were talking to said professor.  After the three morph, they chase after Tyzonn but unfortunately, Moltor also sent Tyzonn some help in the form of Bullow, a fire based bull creature who helps him fight the rangers.  But during their fight, Mack begins sensing that Tyzonn may not be as cruel and evil as he may seem before they rip the parchment and have to figure out how to find the next jewel with ripped pieces,  Luckily, the piece of the parchment the rangers has more clues to the jewel than the other; leading Moltor to send them both back to get it.  After threatening to destroy the city if the rangers don't give their piece back (Seriously, am I missing the name of the city the Hartford Mansion is in??? I don't think they mentioned is yet?? O_o), the rangers head out to confront them.  Meanwhile, Tyzonn begins showing compassion and concern for the humans running from Bullox's destruction and actually tries to save a human before Ronnie does with the Transtek Cycle.

As the rangers continue to fight, Mack realizes after continuing to watch Tyzonn that he is not like the others and tries to reason with him while the rangers continue to fight Bullox.  The two head to the forest where Tyzonn and Mack fight but Mack won't let up in trying to talk with him...especially after melodramatically yelling at his own reflection.....uhh huh??? As the two begin to talk, Mack reveals that the rangers are trying to save the world by finding the jewel of the Aurora Crown which makes Tyzonn realize his allegiance to Moltor has gone too far.  Back in the city, the rangers continue the fight against Bullox as Dax uses the Defender Vest and Drill Blaster to destroy the last of Moltor's army of lava lizards  But as Bullox is about to destroy the rangers, Tyzonn returns; against Moltor as he arrives to destroy Tyzonn for betraying him.  After Moltor severely injures Tyzonn, Mack manages to save him and morphs in another awesome instamorph sequence to protect him from Moltor.  After make saves him from yet another blast, Mack takes the injured Tyzonn to safety while Moltor and Bulloz chase after them to destroy the traitor.  The rangers soon follow while Mack and Tyzonn rest a bit so Mack can bandage his wound.  As Tyzonn thanks Mack for his kindness and saving him, he gives him back the other piece of the parchment which both just magically combine back together.....uhhh huhhh??? O_o

As the rangers continue to track down and worry about Mack helping that creature, Mack and Tyzonn decide to use the parchment to follow clues to the jewel....before they get ambushed by a squad of lava lizards ending Part 1.  So far, not bad at all, tho Tyzonn's story arc isn't really refreshing and so predictable you can see it coming.  The whole former good guy turned into evil monster by the main villain has been done so many times on this show by this point it's almost granted this is leading to some random 6th ranger reveal as usual.  But better than most of this season so far.
