Season 14, Episode 7: Fire Heart
"Fire Heart"
Episode 7
Air Date: March 27th, 2006
Ehwwww! I find it hard to really enjoy our main cast of rangers when their individual personalities can be extremely grating so far. There's Nick and now Xander being revealed to be an egotistical idiot. He literally does nothing at work and forces his friends to do all the work while he supervises them; taking all the credit from Tobey this episode to the point where he says Xander is a natural born aka great leader. How were Chip, Madison and especially Vida ever friends with him in the first place??? O_O Moving on to the plot of the episode, with Necroli getting her hands on some map that leads to "Fire Heart", another object of extreme power yada, yada, you know with this show by now there's always some powerful item that needs to be obtained. After Nick and Vida face off with a...Taxi Monster (Wild Force, is that you??? O_o), Necroli makes her way with the map before the rangers have a chance to follow her or her monster. Oh look, the rangers almost gave away their identities on camera and they can just magical make a copy of the map??? O_o I know magic!!! But you think something that important that leads to something so dangerously powerful, there would be some limitations on what can be done to it. O_o Anyway, Udonna realizes it's the map to the secret of the Fire Heart and tells the rangers they must cross the Cimmerian Forest to reach it. While Chip makes a joke, Udonna gets all serious about how dangerous the forest is and how they'll be victorious if they make it back at all....huh....from what we see of the this very dangerous forest later is pretty average danger for the rangers so.....-_-....
Anyway, Xander gets the bright idea of leading the team through the forest to where the secret is and I can't help but want to kick him where it will hurt the most! -_- Yeah, Xander, just because your boss thinks you're a strong leader despite you being a self centered, free loader at work who takes advantage of his friends, I'm sure you know your way through this ominous looking forest where even your powers don't work. I mean at one point, Xander leads them right into a sinking pit where they almost die and Madison as well as Chip still want to follow him when Phineas appears and would be MUCH better equipped to lead them to where they need to go. I just.....*groan*!!! Anyway, it's only Nick and Vida who have the good sense to follow Phineas and what do you know, they actually make it out of the forest and where they need to be??? You're kidding!? O_O What about the others, ohhhh, Xander just led the three into a trap where a huge spider monster is about to have them for dinner.....-_- I don't even care if Xander admits he's wrong and apologizes multiple times to Phineas and his "friends" when his excuse was they he thought he knew everything....excuse me!??? O_o I just...I don't...anyway....:)....Nick and Vida manage to find the secret of the Fire Heart which is another scroll type paper but soon Necroli and her forces arrive to steal it back. While Vida handles Necroli and Nick fights the Taxi Monster on his...sigh...Mystic Speeder, Phineas arrives in time to save the others and trap the Spider down in a large bottomless pit.
The other rangers soon arrive as Nick and Vida manage to destroy the Taxi Monster together. Only Koragg does his thing as usual and resurrects to make it grow. The rangers summon their Mystic Titans and battle....the taxi....this show makes things look so ridiculous yet I'm still not use to Sentai sequences like this! LOL After using Vida's Mystic Titan as ball again (SMH!), they form the Titan Megazord and destroy the monster with a Mystic spell seal. While Necroli is about to head back to the underworld, Vida attacks her and manages to get a piece of the scroll. But unfortunately, one half of the scroll on both sides means they have no idea how to find the fire heart; leaving Necroli to tell Morticon she has plan to stop the rangers "from the inside"...hmmmmmm. O_o All and All, "Fire Heart" is pretty forgettable and an incredibly bad exploration of Xander in particular. Once again, I'm more annoyed by the rangers and their antics than actually rooting for our heroes and even this early in the season, that's really bad sign...like this episode! :(
