Season 13, Episode 29: Impact

Power Rangers S.P.D. - Red Ranger Returns | Episode 33 "Impact ...
"Impact"
Episode 29
Air Date: September 23rd, 2005

Ok apparently, these episodes from here on out are gonna be in the wrong chronological order it seems but I'll do my best to keep reviewing the episodes as they are presented on Netflix and hope that the story stays coherent instead of SERIOUSLY out of sequence, so please bare with me! O_o  So what's definitely a major standout about this episode is that it sort of culminates the long running arc between Jack and Sky when comes to their ranger rivalry this season.  It seems the two have become so confident in each other skills that they are able to team up against a monster during a hilarious training sequence with Boom.  But soon their session is cut abruptly by the rumblings of yet another Dragoul as Jack and Sky morph and join the other rangers in their zords.  Unfortunately, the combined efforts of the the Omegamax Megazord and the Delta Megazord aren't enough to stop it and the Dragoul gets away.  Too bad things only get worse when they return back to the Command Center and learn from Kat as well as Cruger that a huge asteroid is heading towards Earth.  Seriously, how many asteroids have the rangers had to stop from destroying Earth at this point.  Since In Space, it's been at least 4-5 times or I might be exaggerating?? O_o

Anyway, with the asteroid quickly heading to New Tech City, the core 5 rangers head over to Professor Cerebros to see if he can help them with the meteor's trajectory but just tells them a lie that it's not headed for Earth at all and will burn up in the atmosphere.  Luckily, Bridge doesn't buy it and uses his energy reading power that shows him that Professor Cerebros is really a dangerous criminal named Kraw.  Soon the rangers confront the Professor and order him to tell them how to stop the meteor.  He just reveals himself and begins fighting the rangers after they morph as they try to get control of the remote control to stop the meteor from hitting the city.  Jack and Sky do their newest team up trick to defeat Kraw while the other rangers battle a quad of Blue Heads an d Oranger Heads.  Back at the Command Center, after realizing the remote control is severely damaged and can't stop the meteor, Cruger and Kat see the only way is for one of the rangers to take an SPD Flyer and blast it from close range to destroy it.  While both Jack and Sky immediately volunteer and briefly bicker on who should be that ranger, Cruger commands both of them for making the sacrifice, he ultimately chooses Sky since he is a much better pilot.  Meanwhile, the rest of the rangers head out in the Delta Runners as well as the Omegamax Cycle to continue their battle with Dragoul who has returned thanks to Broodwing to destroy the city.

As Sky heads to the meteor, Jack makes himself known that he has stowed away to help Sky.  While Sky and especially Cruger is made about his stubbornness to do so, Kat makes good point about they both would have anyway no matter who he chose pretty much.  While the rangers struggle to handle Dragoul with two megazords, Sky and Jack coordinate their plan of attack against the meteor.  But even after firing on the  meteor, it only made a hole in it as it continues to head to Earth. DAMMMNNN!!! o_o  Back on Earth, Cruger morphs into the Shadow Ranger as the Dragoul has only grown MUCH larger in height as he prepares the Delta Commnad to help the others in their megazords.  Back at the meteor, Jack decides the only way to destroy the meteor is by entering it and blasting the core....ummmm HUH!? o_O  Sky is completely against it but sends  Sky back home while Jack heroically enters the meteor and destroys the meteor. I love how Sky gives Jack some parting words and goes to Earth to help the others in his honor.  Back on Earth, even the three megazords can't seem to defeat Dragoul, luckily, Sky arrives with some fine shooting to aid them as well.  Oh and Jack....is alive!!! O_o  Yeah, apparently Jack managed to shoot the core with his Delta Enforcer and got out of the explosion's radius just in time....oh Power Rangers!!!

Now with Jack back, they use the SPD Mgeazord's blaster mode as all three megazords hold it for a combined mega blasts that FINALLY destroys Dragoul once and for all!!! Gotta LOVE that shot of all 4 megazords standing together! Quite the awesome arsenal this season in terms of zords in a while! :) The episode concludes with Jack and Sky back to their competitiveness while Grumm learns of Broodwing's betrayal (FINALLY!) and sends a squad of Blue Heads and Orange Heads to destroy him.  Luckily, Broodwing easily outfights them and swears his revenge on Crumm.  All and All, a very strong episode overall.  Love the continued development with Sky and Jack.  This episode seems like the peak of their rival story arc and it had some really great moments of respect and encouragement from both characters/  They have already have come a long way and that's wonderful to see! :)
