Season 13, Episode 31: Missing

"Missing"
Episode 31
Air Date: October 3rd, 2005

Boy...Grumm really LOVES having those moments of complete and utter insanity as by the end of the episode he is ranting again...especially about this being called "Omni"....hmmmmm...:)  Anyway, it's yet another Bridge episode and I am finding these episodes with him entertaining if not a bit puzzling.  Bridge is such a lovable idiot....yet he's been shown to be a scientific expert like Boom or even at the level Kat when he was able to fix RIC. Sure RIC 2.0 had some issues but he turned at to be a much improved version when it mattered. Soooo sometimes I wonder what the rangers were trying to do with him as a character as his personality severely contradicts itself.  Is he a completely idiotic bumbler??? A scientific genius???  How exactly is he both at the same time??? O_o  Oh well, "Miossing" is still the pretty intense episode Bridge goes "missing" of course after being captured by yet another infamous criminal wanted on various planets.  Jesus, how many of these dangerous criminals are just running rampant throughout the galaxy that S.P.D. has to track all of them so relentlessly like this?? O_o Anyway, with Bridge MIA, Jack is assigned by Cruger to track down his whereabouts while Sky leads the rest of the rangers in a search party for Borg, who kidnapped Bridge.

I have to say, I really enjoyed the structure of this episode with the plot being split into two narratives that has the whole cast actively finding Bridge and trying to save the day at the same time.  It makes the episode feel different as well as more eventful than most episodes that episodic instead of moving the plot forward.  The action scenes with the rangers against Borg was really nice and it's great once again seeing Broodwing really committing as his own solo villain against the rangers.  Also, I find it kind of hilarious that Piggy is literally playing all 3 sides against each other just to look out for himself.  Sure it's smart, but I find it hard to believe that Grumm, Broodwing and S.P.D. can't seem to figure out that Piggy is playing all of them but whatever! O_o  So while the rangers are handling Borg, who is come kung fu master with a deadly ponytail whip (of course, cause...!!!) Jack is in the middle of tracking Bridge down who is trapped in some kind of prison with only a grate opening as he manages to use his morpher to communicate with Jack. After Bridge being typical Bridge in explaining his whereabouts to Jack, both of the walls of the room begin moving toward each other.  Oh brother!!! I hate these types of death traps in movies and TV!!! Gives me sooo many creeps and anxious!!! o_o

Anyway, thanks to Piggy snitching on all sides, Grumm sends a squad of Blue Heads, Orange Heads and Krybots to stop Jack from saving Bridge; leading to an awesome fight sequence of Jack literally blasting and plowing through them.  Sure, the Kalishsplosions are rampant but they haven't reach their peak of infuriating, gratuitous repetitive display that it will become!!! -_-  Luckily, Jack manages to save Bridge just at the last moment before he's crushed...but he's morpher is destroyed thanks to him meddling with it to communicate with Jack.  Soon RIC comes out of no where and gives him his new morpher just in time for he and Jack to rejoin the other rangers in finishing off Borg in space with the S.W.A.T. Megazord in it's blaster form and capture him.  Seriously, what a weird finisher!!! O_o  All and All, "Missing" is a solid half hour of ranger action, nice pacing and a bit of plot movement at the end with apparently a higher threat than Grumm??? Wow!!! O_o

Final Morph: B+
