"Wormhole"
Episode 35
Air Episode: July 20th, 2005/February 2nd, 2006

I guess you can say "Wormhole" is for sure the BETTER of the two Dino Thunder team up episodes.  Tho one wonders why they wanted to do two separate team up episodes instead of more a two part story arc???  I'm sure the writers thought of bringing back the Dino Thunder one more time before the end of the season last minute (That could explain the sudden bizarre airing of episodes since this one premiere 7 months or so later?? O_O)  I have to say what I do enjoy immensely about this episode is the time travel aspect as Grumm goes back into the past to where S.P.D. is not to try and take over Earth.  Of course, by pulling a Ransik from Time Force, Cruger quickly ends the rangers premature celebrating and orders three of them to head back into the past while the rest of the team stays in the present....future??...uhh...to protect the city.  I love how Sky later debunks Cruger's choice by showing that the immediate threat is in the past, especially if Grumm is successful and changes history.  Shows just how smart and determined the rangers have become in times of immediate, unforeseen crisis...especially since the temporal wormhole is quickly closing; forcing to come to Jack, Bridge and Z's aid.

Also, I do like how the writers made this into kind of a lost Dino Thunder; taking place between Trent's return to the team as an ally and "Fighting Spirit".  Even how the scenes cut to another are down in classic Dino Thunder fashion with a dino zord attacking the scene. lol  I guess I also like how Trent and the Black Ranger get to join in the team up this team instead of the original trio....but...clearly Tommy aka Jason frank wasn't available for this and they decided to have Trent's actor do a Tommy impression that only seems legit have the time.  They shouldn't have given him that much dialogue during the final battle is all I'm saying...it became so obvious the more he spoke....NOT Tommy.  It's also funny how nonchalant "Tommy" is to a new team of rangers by literally just jumping into the action and not questioning their whereabouts or who they are.  I guess since he's seen (Not to mention led a team of red rangers from various teams) in the past, it's just another day for the veteran ranger.  Also, while it was cool to see Zeltrax again as well as the Trannodrones, they didn't add much to the story besides extra forces for Grumm's army.  That's why it would have benefited if this was apart of a two part story instead another random team up episode with the previous season's team.  While it was cool to see Zeltrax interact and circum to Grumm's immense power, I would have rather seen Mesagog and Grumm interact; especially considering how he's one of the best villains of the franchise.  Seriously, what was Mesagog doing during all this? Elsa?  I guess they were busy as Principal Randell and Anton Mercer, but still...I would have enjoyed a least a mention of their whereabouts. Anyway...

Another plus here is that the final battle is more focused on the fighting and skills of the rangers instead of the multitude of explosions that truly almost spoiled the final battle in "History" for me.  Also, the way each team up feels awesome and right with the White Ranger and Omega Ranger taking on the foot soldiers while both mentor rangers take on Zeltrax. It just felt kind of epic and right for this kind of pairing instead of how both teams were paired bizarrely in "History".  Of course, the Red Rangers finished off both forces with their battlizers before both teams used their combined weapons to destroy Grumm's trio of monsters.  So the episode has been awesome as hell at this point; fast paced but entertaining and exciting in many ways...until Cruger decides to not only wipe out the memory of the Dino Rangers again, as with as the S.P.D. rangers...and his own?!! WHAT!? O_O  What purpose does that serve...especially since TOMMY still remembers what just happened.  Did they erase his memory too?? Doesn't seem like it??? Also, I understand saving the future by erasing the memories of previous rangers in the past but why erase the rangers as well as Cruger's memories??? I makes absolutely NO. SENSE! Ehhhhh!!! Such a dumb plot point as well as plothole.  I just...if it wasn't for Mora hilariously reminding Grumm of the reasons to head back to the future...present??....then the end of this episode would have been complete and utter trash.  Spoiling the rest of it.  BUT despite all that, "Wormhole" is definitely the much superior team up as "History" became too chaotic toward the end while "Wormhole's" story felt more consistent and the action was sooo much better; relying more on fighting skills than constant explosions everywhere.  Not to mention....no quarry??? Yes!!! :)
